How Much Would The Reward Be To Catch A Killer 25 footer In 2021? Did you know that the $3000 reward in Jaws would be worth $14,500 with adjusted 2021 numbers?   The dollar had an average inflation rate of 3.51% per year between 1975 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 388.87%.   Quint insisting on $10,000 for the head, the tail, the whole damn thing would be the equivalent of a few dollars short of $50,000!  This means that today's prices are 4.89 times higher than average prices since 1975, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics consumer price index. A dollar today only buys 20.46% of what it could buy back then. The 1975 inflation rate was 9.13%. The current year-over-year inflation rate (2020 to 2021) is now 1.68%1. What happens when you mash up the audio of the 2014 Godzilla movie with Jurassic Park and Jaws?  Well those clever people over at The Indietoolbox have the answer.  Check out the videos below.  They go together surprisingly well.

Sega Killer Shark "Video" Game This cabinet can be seen in the movie Jaws on the beach.  It's called Killer Shark from gaming greats, Sega.  It was released way back in 1972.  The shark moves around and the player shoots it with a spear gun. It has a series of slides on a wheel that make the shark move and thrash around when shot. Electronic sound and 8-track player. It resembles the Same Sea Devil also by Sega, but Sea Devil had a manta ray instead of a shark. Okay, this isn't Killer Shark but I love the advert for Shark Attack.  "Take a diver to lunch." Richard Dreyfuss has a special place in the early cinema of Spielberg/Lucas. He first came to attention in Lucas’ ‘American Graffiti’ (1973) as teenager Curt spending the film chasing after the elusive girl who has caught his attention early on in the film. He then famously turned down Spielberg's offer of the Matt Hooper role in Jaws claiming it was ‘a film I would rather see than make’ before his about turn after witnessing his performance in ‘The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz’(1974) which he thought would end his career. Dreyfuss’ position in Spielberg's early career is an interesting ‘what if..’ scenario in the sense that he completely went off the rails in a melt down of drink and drugs which he only recovered from after a car crash and a career rejuvenation in 1986 after his role in the hit comedy ‘Down and Out in Beverly Hills’. The Orca III Is Being Made Our good friends over at The Daily Jaws announced on Thursday that they were teaming up with Making the Monster and members of the original Jaws crew to bring us a full size replica of the iconic boat from Jaws.  Yes, The Orca will exist once again thanks to these dedicated fans of Jaws and because of them it will eventually give fans a chance to "drink to yer leg" onboard  a full-size Orca.  The new boat will look and feel like the original as much as is possible. Jaws Lobby Card Found In My Collection Mixed In With Jaws 2 Cards Isn't it nice when you are looking through your collection and you come across something unexpected?  Well, that's what happened to me today when I was looking through my Jaws 2 lobby cards.  I came across one of the cards that is actually from the first (and of course best) Jaws movie.  The scene is actually the deleted scene where we see Michael being saved indirectly by a man in a boat.  The scene was deemed too gory for Spielberg's PG movie so the scene got chopped.  A nice find especially as today is the 45th anniversary of the classic movie.  (Genuinely, this was found today, 20th June.) Join Us For Jaws WeMake World Premiere This Saturday On YouTube  and Twitter Our pals over at the number one Jaws website in the world, The Daily Jaws will be premiering the much anticipated Jaws WeMake .  It's a recreation of the classic Steven Spielberg 1975 movie, Jaws that celebrates its 45th anniversary this Saturday, 20th June.  The recreation consists of clips and renditions by fans.  The Bearded Trio will be represented.  Look out for the opening credits which was created by myself.  The zooming through the reefs was actually my back garden where, thankfully I had been putting off cutting the grass, glad I did.  The wave effect was LED disco lights on the ceiling of our garage.
