The Moviemaking Magic of Star Wars: Ships & Battles Yes, you may have your tablets and phones to do most of your reading these days but for me there is nothing like a good old fashioned book when it comes to reading about a movie, in particular the behind the scenes aspect.  It may not be as interactive as an app but the information that is at your fingertips, the glossy photos and being able to flick through a book instantly cannot be replaced.  But, if you want a little bit more from a book then look no further than  The Moviemaking Magic of Star Wars: Ships & Battles by Landry Walker. Not only is the book packed with behind the scenes information on all the Star Wars films leading up to The Rise of Skywalker (the movie is mentioned with three pages dedicated to it.  Maybe a later edition will have more) including the anthology movies such as Solo and Rogue One but the book has a little trick up its sleeve.  You see as you read about each movi...

Star Wars fans had it good at this years San Diego Comic Con as they were not only treated to an exceptional panel from The Force Awakens cast but they also got to attend a surprise Star Wars concert. At the end of the Star Wars panel, J.J. Abrams asked the 6000+ crowd “Who wants to go see a live Star Wars concert right now?”  The fans cheered and were ordered to leave Hall H and march outside to a completely free concert performed by the San Diego Symphony. Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill were amongst other cast members of The Force Awakens on stage yesterday at San Diego Comic Con, the largest comic con in the world. Harrison Ford was the last to be revealed on stage and it was his first appearance since his plane accident.  He said: "I'm fine," Ford reportedly said. "I walked here so how bad can it be?" "It should have felt ridiculous," Ford said about stepping back on to a Star Wars set after such a long period. "It was 30 plus years ago, and I sort of grew up. Yet here I was. I will tell you that it felt great." The film's two young British stars, Daisy Ridley who plays Rey and John Boyega who plays Finn, also took to the stage. As well as being given the chance to ask questions, the audience was also the first to see a three-minute behind the scenes video.
