JOE.ie's Rory Cashin chats to Simon Pegg about his part in Steven Spielberg's new blockbuster Ready Player One.   Jaws is mentioned during the interview and working with Steven Spielberg.  Pegg says Spielberg works well under pressure and was interesting to see how he was adapting to the new technology. Simon said that he could bother Steven all day long asking to tell him stories.  He doesn't but if he did, Spielberg would gladly oblige. Simon Pegg Confirms He's Not In Star Wars VII. Or Does He?

Recent rumours of Simon Pegg being on board for Star Wars VII and a slip of the tongue at SDCC by Benedict Cumberbatch indicating that the Paul and Star Trek Into Darkness star was in yet another JJ Abrams movie have been quashed somewhat by Pegg himself.  Talking with Vulture.com he says: "Well, J.J. uses me in different roles, and we’re good friends. I feel like my face in Star Wars would pop people out of the movie. Look, I love Star Wars, and I don’t want people to watch and go, Oh, there’s Simon Pegg’s face. The film is cleverly cast with these amazing, unknown actors. (emphasis Vulture's)" So, you’re not in the movie? [Smiles.] Of course I visited the set. It’s amazing, and I love Star Wars. I want to see everything happening. It looks wonderful, and you need to believe those characters. Any type of stunt casting might just pop you out of the movie.  Hmmm.  You could read between the lines here and think he may actually be in make up.  Stay tuned. ...

Simon Pegg Answers Our Tweet On His Prequel Bashing

Earlier tonight we tweeted Simon Pegg regarding his prequel bashing of late. In his defence he did reply. Check out the tweets below. @ thebeardedtrio Please don't take it personally. I'm only angry because I care. Towing the party line would be hypocrisy. — Simon Pegg (@simonpegg) May 14, 2013 What do you think of Pegg's prequel bashing and response? Rob @welshslider

Simon Pegg Not Interested In Being In Star Wars. Runs Down Prequels AGAIN!

Simon Pegg has revealed that he is not pursuing a role in JJ Abrams's Star Wars: Episode VII "It's not one of my great wishes to be in Star Wars, I'd love to go to the cinema and just watch it." Well that's good news. But he couldn't leave it there. In the interview with Industria magazine it also seems that Pegg, as usual, is taken every opportunity lately to express his dislike for the Star Wars prequels. We reported a few days ago that Pegg, in an interview with Total Film was expressing his distaste for the prequel movies, and here we are again a few days later. "I'll always have a soft spot for George Lucas because he made the original films, but those prequels were dreadful and if he were making more Star Wars films, I'd be worried." I get it! We all do. Shish! I mean I know the Prequels were not everyone's cup of tea and you have a right to dislike something but Pegg seems to go out of his way to keep reminding people...
