George Lucas discusses plans to open an art museum in Marin County, California back in 2013 with CBS.  He also gives a tour of Skywalker Ranch and a glimpse at his Rockwell art collection. At the Skywalker Ranch, Bill Whitaker caught up with the famed filmmaker. The Big Bang Theory Has A Skywalker Ranch Episode An upcoming episode of the extremely popular series, The Big Bang Theory will see Sheldon, Leonard and the gang trying to break into Skywalker Ranch to try and grab a glimpse of their idols, mainly George Lucas.  The show returns on April 2nd. "When Leonard and Sheldon are invited to speak at UC Berkeley, they take a detour to try to meet an idol. Also, when Bernadette and Howard battle over the fate of his Dr. Who TARDIS, Raj and Amy offer to settle the dispute with a game of ping pong." Guest stars include actor Tate Ellington as Mitchell and actors Michael Dempsey and Mark Barrett, who will play security guards. It will be interesting to see how they do it and if Skywalker Ranch is actually used.  If you like the sound of this then I would recommend   Kyle Newman's Fanboys where we see a group of Star Wars fans trying to break into Skywalker Ranch to get an early viewing of Star Wars Episode One. Skywalker Ranch Map These are from my personal collection.  They are scans of hand outs that you are given when you drive up to Skywalker Ranch.  Included are a Skywalker Ranch map, Skywalker Ranch policies and a parking permit (not shown) that you would put on your car's windscreen. Looking at the policies, imagine being a hired driver and not being allowed to look around?  How much of a tease would that be?  Also don't bring your dog.  Now take me to the archives building.  Straight up, turn left at the caretakers office and  straight on.  Where would be the first place at Skywalker Ranch you would go? Brush Fire Threated Skywalker Ranch The Marin County Fire Department received a call at 1:52 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, that a fire had started at the Banta House, an adjacent estate once owned by the Doobie Brothers, where a wedding was scheduled to take place two days later, said Battalion Chief Tim Thompson , who directed the department’s operations that day. Mr. Thompson said the fire, which was burning roughly three acres across, spread up a steep hill to the border of Mr. Lucas’ ranch about an hour after it had started. “This was a very tough fire,” he said. “There was some complexity to it.” Indeed, Mr. Thompson said it took more than two hours to put out, with about 70 firefighters, two inmate crews, two bulldozers and two air tankers battling the blaze (alas, no Ewoks were available). Skywalker Ranch has its own fire brigade, which also responded to the call. Mr. Thompson said a small portion of the ranch was damaged during the incident. But Lynne Hale , a spokeswoma...
