Highlights from the Los Angeles Premiere of LucasFilms' Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny With Interviews

Highlights from the Los Angeles Premiere of LucasFilms' Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny at Dolby Theatre on June 14 in Hollywood, California. Harrison Ford thanked the fans and during one interview said we're celebrating the movie but also all these people (pointing to the fans) and said they have kept us making movies for 42 years. Karen Allen laughed at how she has known for the last two years she was in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and how she's not been able to breath a word of it.  "It's been a challenge" she said. One of my favourite actors, Toby Jones look a little bewildered by all the grandeur. "It's not the kind of thing I ever thought I would be part of."  Phoebe Waller-Bridge looked positively excited.  "We've been sitting on this film for so long, I am so excited for it to come out.  It's such a ride and such an adventure." The stars of the movie take to the red carpet to celebrate the US premiere ...

The Day The Hot Temperatures On Set Of Raiders of the Lost Ark Saved Harrison Ford From Disaster

Planes and Ford Spell Trouble On The Set Of Raiders of the Lost Ark The Flying Wing scene is a memorable one in Raiders of the Lost Ark as we get to witness an exciting few minutes of action including a fight scene with Indy and a muscly German mechanic, Indy almost losing his head from a propeller all coupled with big explosions and fast-paced action.  But for Steven Spielberg the Flying Wing scene was a bit of struggle.  The prop itself didn't always perform properly and Steven had to figure out how to piece together 120 shots for the fight sequence and of course the blazingly hot temperatures on set. But it was these hot temperatures that saved Harrison Ford from having a major disaster and a potential life-changing injury.  The wheel of the Flying Wing actually ran over Ford's leg at one point as the actor lay on the ground for a fight sequence.  Ford recalls "I go down and start to roll away - and my foot slips, right under the rolling plane's tire.  Everyb...

BLOG: Harrison Ford: The Icon and His Appeal by Michael Heather

Harrison Ford: The Icon and His Appeal by Michael Heather This is the essay that I had resisted to write because it's pretty much my slam-dunk of a topic choice...I can already hear the groans from all of the people that have ever known me. But, I write it because I am not alone...I can already hear the applause from a million geeks like me and they won’t be silenced. Harrison Ford is the Elvis of several geek generations, certainly the ever-ageing ones like me that grew up on the cinema of Lucas and Spielberg. There is a wonderful moment in the film ‘500 Days of Summer’ where Joseph Gordon Levitt’s character Tom, having fallen for the quirky charms of Zooey Deschanels’ title character, does an impromptu street dance in celebration of his new love. All the supporting characters celebrate this new feeling with him and they all join in the parade...and then Tom suddenly catches a reflection in a window. It’s Harrison’s reflection from the medal ceremony in Star Wars, re-purpose...

CLASSIC CLIP: Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) Plays Uncharted 3

Harrison Ford plays Uncharted 3 on PS3 Lets be honest, you can see he hasn't really got a clue what is going on but at least you can see he's enjoying himself. I love the Uncharted games and they do make you feel like Indiana Jones even if it is Nathan Drake. This is a clever bit of marketing to bring the two together. It's hard to think that Uncharted 3 is almost a decade old now, released in 2011.  Even so, it still holds up well and a recent play-through by myself on the PS4 proves that once a good game, always a good game. And, here is the trailer to the game that Harrison Ford is playing, Uncharted 3. It really is a fantastic game!

Video: Chris Pratt As Indiana Jones

Deepfake video shows Chris Pratt as Indiana Jones Chris Pratt is Indiana Jones.  Well, he is for two minutes and nine seconds in this deepfake video.  The folks over at Shamook have put together various clips from the Indiana Jones movies with Chris Pratt's face instead of the familiar Harrison Ford. What does Chris Pratt think of all this?  Well, he did respond to a Tweet with simply "There’s nothing like the original. But damn. This is pretty cool."  It's not the first time he's been associated with taking over as the man in the hat.  Back in 2015, he said at a press event that playing Indiana Jones would be an "awesome opportunity." There’s nothing like the original. But damn. This is pretty cool. https://t.co/ch8xTeG19d — chris pratt (@prattprattpratt) May 2, 2020 Back last year in an interview for USA Today , Harrison Ford was asked who would he like to see replace him as the role of Indiana Jones. His response was, "Nobody is gon...

BRAD'S APRIL ESCAPE PART 20: INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL

Brad’s April Escape - Part 20 April 30 - Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Each weekday this month, I’ll screen a film from The Bearded Trio Cinematic Universe and list 10 random scenes, characters, musical cues or performances that I particularly enjoy and look forward to upon every viewing. I’d love to hear similar little things you enjoy about these films, and hope you join me in this escape from the present-day world. My final entry in this series is the last collaboration between George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and John Williams: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008). Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - An Introduction After 19 years, Harrison Ford donned The Hat once again for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Like the Star Wars prequels, the anticipation for this release was very high. The result was enormously successful at the box office, but this film received a curious backlash, and not imme...

BRAD'S APRIL ESCAPE PART 17: STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI

Brad’s April Escape - Part 17 April 27 - Return of the Jedi Each weekday this month, I’ll screen a film from The Bearded Trio Cinematic Universe and list 10 random scenes, characters, musical cues or performances that I particularly enjoy and look forward to upon every viewing. I’d love to hear similar little things you enjoy about these films, and hope you join me in this escape from the present-day world. Next up is the conclusion of the beloved original Star Wars Trilogy, Return of the Jedi (1983). Return of the Jedi - An Introduction Yes, I skipped over Empire Strikes Back . Don't worry, I have a three-part mega-post coming on that film to coincide with its 40th anniversary from May 20-22. Until then, I suppose we have to settle for this gem of a film, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983), wonderfully directed by Richard Marquand. I've been looking forward to analyzing this film for a long time, though I hardly know where to begin. Watching ...

BRAD'S APRIL ESCAPE PART 15: INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE

Brad’s April Escape - Part 15 April 23 - Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Each weekday this month, I’ll screen a film from The Bearded Trio Cinematic Universe and list 10 random scenes, characters, musical cues or performances that I particularly enjoy and look forward to upon every viewing. I’d love to hear similar little things you enjoy about these films, and hope you join me in this escape from the present-day world. Next up is the long-awaited conclusion to the original trilogy, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Last Crusade - An Introduction I can't, and I won't, rank the films of the Indiana Jones franchise. I am too attached in too many unique ways to those first three. Today, I tackle a more mature Indy, and corresponding film, Last Crusade. This film shares a lot of story beats with Raiders of the Lost Ark , and purposefully so, according to filmmaker Steven Spielberg. He says he missed the prevailing tone of Raiders after Indy m...
