Star Wars Celebration Destined For London

London is the next venue for Star Wars Celebration, it was announced yesterday during the last day's events at Anaheim.  The venue will be at the excellent Excel which I've visited numerous times, one of which was just last year for Destination Star Trek London. The event will be from the 15th to the 17th July. I will be there for sure.  I can't wait to meet some of the stars and more importantly fellow fans.  Who's with me? Down Memory Lane #theempirestrikesback

Only a few more months until it's been 35 years since my first visit to London. I didn't go there to visit the tourist attractions, though I must admit that Madam Tussaud's had been high on my list. Remember folks: this was a long time ago... The main reason for my visit was that I just needed to see the follow-up to Star Wars, that funny little film by bearded director Lucas , the film that surprised me so much, three years before. However, the film wasn't to be released in The Netherlands until Christmas of 1980. America was out of the question (budget-wise), so London was the choice that came to mind, since waiting another 5 months was out-of-the-question. II was accompanied by a colleague who had been to London a few months earlier and had missed the premiere by a few days. So the first thing on our agenda for day number 2 (we arrived in the evening of day 1) was finding THE cinema, not just A cinema: Odeon Leicester Square, and on the outside on...

Photos Of Me And Friends At Destination Star Trek London

Let me know what you think.  I've put together some of the photos we took at Destination Star Trek London.  First part are our photo shoots then the second part are random photos including items from the museum.  I'm the ugly one with the glasses.  Check out the video channel to see a thirty minute video diary of the event, a floor walk video and  a moment when I ask the SFX magazine what their favourite John Williams soundtracks are. Destination Star Trek London Review

W hat a weekend!  I've just got back from London where Destination Star Trek London was being held at the Excel.  I met all five captains, had numerous photos taken with the actors, got several autographs, helped break the world record for the most amount of Star Trek fans in costume, listened to talks by some of the actors, enjoyed parties and so much more.  But how did it all go?  Was it organised?  Did the organisers hit it off, or did they sink quicker than Riker in the Skin Of Evil?   I had a two day pass for the Saturday and Sunday (along with a press pass so I could sneak into the talks.)  I was joined by four others, my wife and three friends, one of whom, namely Chris, kindly did all the organising and booking.  Myself and Chris were in full costume.  I was sporting an Enterprise jumpsuit while Chris wore a rather fine Captains suit from Star Trek II. We arrived at the Excel at around 8:15 for a 9am start. ...
