The Bearded Trio

By Patrick Gibbs V anessa Marshall's face may not be one you'd recognize walking down the street. You may not even know her name, but if you're a fan of animation or video games, you've heard her voice many times over. She's played everything from James Bond's car computer ( 007: Nightfire ) to Agatha Christie's Antoinette Marceau ( Murder on the Orient Express: The Video Game ), and has so many Marvel and DC icons under her utility belt that she's a one woman Comic Con: Wonder Woman, Poison Ivy, Gamora, Black Widow, Black Canary, Mary Jane Watson, Catwoman, Batwoman and Vertigo are just a few of the characters she's brought to life. She has also lent her voice to such cartoon favorites as Ben 10 , Johnny Bravo ,  Duck Dodgers, Garfield's Pet Force, What's New, Scooby Doo? and Pig Goat Banana Cricket. You're probably eager to know if Star Wars Rebels is good.  Does it match the quality of The Clone Wars which the series is kind of replacing?  Well the answer is a big fat YES! I've just finished watching the feature length opening episode and to say the show hits the ground running is an understatement.  I'm not going to give away the plot (you'll just have to watch it yourself.)  But I will say the introduction of characters to a new show as is always the case with a new series is one of the strongest opening episodes to a show I've seen in years.  Yes really! I said I wasn't going to give the plot away but I will say I love the group of heroes we have.  A kind of Robin Hood but instead of a wicked sheriff to fend off we have the evil Empire we're so familiar with from the original series.  I will say it's nice to have the Empire back with British accents, including the Stormtroopers who look gorgeous in the opening episode. Vanessa Marshall who plays Hera in the upcoming and much anticipated Star Wars Rebels has told us she is a huge Steven Spielberg fan.  Not only that she dedicates a lot of her own time to the Shoah Foundation which Steven Spielberg founded in 1994.  The foundation is a non-profit organisation established to record testimonies in video format of survivors and other witnesses of the Holocaust. In a previous event for the foundation, Vanessa live announced Disney chairman, Bob Iger.  Well it's got to be hard to top that.  Vanessa emailed us to say: So I can tell you that I will be live announcing President Barack Obama at an upcoming Shoah Foundation event! What an event that's going to be and what an honour!  We will of course report on it when it happens.
