Josh Trank who was down to direct one of the two standalone Star Wars movies is no longer attached to direct. A statement from Lucasfilm has the director saying that he’s “making a personal decision to move forward on a different path.” Rumours started at the recent Star Wars celebration where it was announced Trank would not be showing up for a featured panel due to 'feeling under the weather.' Trank took to Twitter to confirm he had the flu. Apparently his no show caught Lucasfilm and Disney totally by surprised and seemed to be a last minute decision. A decision as big as this to walk away from a Star wars movie is not an overnight thing and I wouldn't be surprised if Trank at least was aware of his intentions before Celebration.
