Following quickly on the heels of Intrada's release of James Horner's Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Intrada presents one of the most sought-after soundtrack expansions  – Horner's epic fantasy score to the 1988 film Willow. With the cooperation of Disney and Lucasfilm, Intrada has prepared a 2-CD set featuring a greatly expanded program of Horner's score. Up to that point, it was probably Horner's most complex work. The score features at least five themes, including a noble theme for Willow, a heroic theme filled with adventure and triumph, a beautiful love theme, a simple theme for the baby Elora and a serpentine motif for the evil Queen. It's a score that runs over 100 minutes, making it one of his longest works, featuring some of the longest and most cohesive cues of his career. Few Hollywood films can match the heartbreaking climax of Titanic, where Kate Winslet tells Leonardo DiCaprio that she’ll “never let go” – and James Horner’s unforgettable music kicks in, well according to the British public. That classic, Oscar-winning score has today been named Britain’s favourite movie soundtrack of all time. A poll, commissioned by the Royal Albert Hall as part of its celebration of Great Escape composer Elmer Bernstein, being staged in June, asked 2,000 respondents to choose their favourite film score. Titanic topped the charts beating out the likes of Chariots of Fire, Star Wars, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and The Lord of the Rings, to scoop the top spot. Incredibly sad news.  James Horner, composer of such greats as Apollo 13, Titanic and A Beautiful Mind has died in a plane crash aged 61. James Horner who was a trained pilot had been flying a private plane alone which sadly crashed north of Santa Barbara on Monday morning. James Horner was an incredible soundtrack composer winning two Oscars (Titanic) and was the composer of choice for James Cameron. James Horner's personal assistant, Sylvia Patrycja, wrote on Facebook on Monday: "We have lost an amazing person with a huge heart, and unbelievable talent. He died doing what he loved. Thank you for all your support and love and see you down the road." Actor and director Ron Howard tweeted: "Brilliant Composer James Horner, friend & collaborator on 7 movies has tragically died in a plane crash. My heart aches for his loved ones."
