John Williams Introduces Boston Pop's Summon The Heroes Today the wonderful Boston Pops Orchestra treated us to a rendition of Summon The Heroes which of course was originally composed by John Williams for the Summer Olympics in 1996. John Williams said in the video: "It was meant to celebrate our great athletes and become ambassadors of goodwill the world over and today we have a different set of circumstances, a different set of heroes and heroines who sacrifice everyday and bring their commitment and dedication to their work." Keith Lockhart who conducts the piece said after the statement by John Williams: "And with that I would like to dedicate this special performance to all of today's heroes.
