BRAD'S APRIL ESCAPE PART 3 - STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE (1977)

Brad’s April Escape - Episode 3 April 3 - Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) Each weekday this month, I’ll screen a film from The Bearded Trio Cinematic Universe and list 10 random scenes, characters, musical cues or performances that I particularly enjoy and look forward to upon every viewing. I’d love to hear similar little things you enjoy about these films, and hope you join me in this escape from the present-day world. Next up is a film maybe one or two of you might have seen at some point over the past 42 years, Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) A New Hope - An Introduction I was a few months past my 4th birthday when Star Wars hit my suburban Detroit cinema. Like so many of my generation, I have vivid memories of that screening, and many subsequent screenings over the next couple of years. I recall being SO MAD that Darth Vader got away. He was the bad guy, he killed Obi-Wan Kenobi, he should die so the good guys can really win. That’s how my 4-year-old brain processed it at t...

Star Wars A New Hope Recreated Using Toys And Set To 1979 Read Along Story Book

Here's a toy version of Star Wars: A New Hope using audio from the 1979 read along story book tape from Buena Vista Records.  Thankfully when you hear R2 beep like this you don't need to turn the page, just enjoy the video. The video was created by Youtuber dyna74 using his Star Wars figure collection.  Mainly comprising of Power of the Force figures with a few vintage figures thrown in.  It's really well done with a slight tongue in cheek vibe.  Pretty good special effects too although there's no ring of fire around the planets explosions.  Maybe in a future version. Happy Birthday Star Wars.  38 years ago today movie history was created.  I was lucky enough (and old enough) to remember the phenomenon that changed my life.  I was five years old and from the moment I left the cinema I've craved Star Wars.  Thank you George Lucas for giving the world Star Wars and for letting us play in your galaxy. I was either five or six being either 1977 or 1978 when Star Wars first hit our cinemas here in South Wales.  In those days, there always seemed to be a huge gap between US releases and the rest of the world.  Anyway I had never heard of Star Wars and out of the blue my brother, who is sadly no longer with us asked if I would like to go and see this space film.  Any trip to the cinema back then was like someone taking you to a magical land.  Of course I said yes. The cinema was a small two screen affair.  No multi screens in those days, well at least not around our way.  One screen was showing Star...
