Brian Johnson, the Oscar‑winning special effects maestro behind some of the greatest sci‑fi films and TV shows ever made, has sadly passed away. His work helped define the look and feel of modern science fiction. From 2001: A Space Odyssey to Alien , from Thunderbirds and Space: 1999 to The Empire Strikes Back , Brian’s craftsmanship shaped entire generations of storytelling. His Oscar for The Empire Strikes Back remains one of the most deserved honours in the history of the Special Achievement category. I was fortunate enough to interview Brian back in 2016 at Showmasters’ Cardiff Film & Comic Con. He was warm, funny, and wonderfully candid, the kind of person who could talk about groundbreaking visual effects with the same ease as sharing a quiet memory from a frozen location shoot. VIDEO: John Williams Interview The Philadelphia Orchestra on their Facebook page have published a never-before-seen 19-minute video interview, with Principal Guest Conductor Stéphane Denève and John Williams.  John Williams tells us in the interview: "Most of the time I'm writing something, I'm writing a movie now...So I listen to very little music, it's not very helpful to listen to Brahms or something else where the music is probably better than mine to begin with.  It wouldn't really help." Classic Interview with Steven Spielberg From 1992 Shows The Arcade Games In His Office I n this classic interview with Steven Spielberg, the iconic director discusses how he still gets nervous at work just as he did in school.  Ed Bradley asks the questions for '60 Minutes' and there is a wonderful scene where we see Spielberg playing some of his video games.  The Classic Bubble Bobble and Final Lap 2 are some of the games we see Spielberg playing in his office and admitting to the interviewer: "This is the kind of place where, potentially we could get no work done."
