We reported last month that John Williams is to be honoured by the BMI in the glamarous Beverly Hills and that ceremony took place yesterday. The award was a new one and in honour of the composer "in recognition of his incomparable status as one of the greatest film and television composers of our time." Williams had already received an honour from BMI in 1999 but when you have this much talent then creating a new award just to celebrate his work had to be done. Variety were able to interview the composer.
