A ll of us who find or search for this page have something in common: a love of great movies, the joy they bring us and an admiration for the people who have brought amazing ideas to life.  I am a Star Wars enthusiast, and will watch anything by Spielberg when it is available.  Goonies, ET, everything Indy, everything Marty.  All of these fantasies fueled the emerging hopes of my childhood. Executive Director Stephen Smith with survivor Edward Mosberg and Institute founder Steven Spielberg Holocaust survivor Edward Mosberg believes it is his duty to share what happened to him, his family, and millions of other Jews during World War II. He regularly shares his story with students all over the world. Mosberg visited the office of USC Shoah Foundation this week not only to learn about the Institute’s work, but also to share his story. Wearing the blue-striped concentration camp uniform of his youth, Mosberg spoke to a group of history students and attended a private screening of the film DESTINATION UNKNOWN   produced in association with the Institute. The documentary tells his and the stories of other Holocaust survivors and how each one found different ways to overcome the deep scars that they carry. The executive chairman of Ford Motor Co. Bill Ford announced at an event yesterday that his company will continue to sponsor Steven Spielberg's Shoah Foundation. IWitness Program.  Steven Spielberg was in attendance and said: "My dream through the Shoah Foundation is to someday have programs like IWitness become prerequisites for graduating high school...For tolerance education to be folded into the social science study program in public high schools and private schools around the nation, and around the world — that is my ultimate goal." The Shoah Foundation runs IWitness, an educational website that provides access to more than 1,500 full life histories and testimonies of survivors and witnesses of genocides. Ford Motor Co.'s $180,000 gift will help expand IWitness to more schools in the Detroit area. As reported last week US President Barack Obama will be honoured on Wednesday by Oscar-winning director Steven Spielberg during a gala in Los Angeles organised by the Shoah Foundation.  The foundation will mark it's 20th anniversary having been formed by the film director shortly after filming Schindler's List. During the event, Spielberg will "recognise President Obama with the institute’s highest honour”, for “his commitment to education and expanding educational technology and his work advancing opportunities for all people” Live introducing the President of the United States will be Star Wars Rebels star, Vanessa Marshall.
