Norwegian Joachim Rønning who is down to direct Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge  will also direct the adaptation of Michael Crichton's  Micro.   The novel was left unfinished when he unfortunately died in 2008. Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall will produce the film. The movie will be scripted by Darren Lemke who wrote Goosebumps and the upcoming Goosebumps 2. Micro's story will centre around a tropical forest where a group of biotech students are lost in the dense forest but what makes things worse is they have been shrunk to half an inch.  Better call Atom. DreamWorks Studios just picked up the feature film rights to Michael Chrichton's novel, Micro and Frank Marshall is on board to produce.  Micro was an unfinished piece from the Jurassic Park author who sadly passed away in 2008.  Richard Preston completed the story in 2011.  It ended up being a best seller. Micro is a high-concept thriller that follows a group of graduate students lured to Hawaii to work for a mysterious biotech company—only to find themselves miniaturized and cast out into the rain forest, with nothing but their scientific expertise and wits to protect them. With hopes rising sky high, as the premiere of Jurassic World is only a few weeks ahead of us, I thought it would be time to look back at the man responsible for the dino-revival, and I don't mean the director behind the first Jurassic Park film, but the man who created Jurassic Park in the first place: author Michael Crichton. Though Jurassic Park is undoubtedly his biggest success, spanning a book sequel and 4 features, of which the first two were (loosely) based on the two books, Crichton has had more successes. Originally Michael studied English literature at Harvard University (his father had always encouraged him to write and type stories), but quit when he received poor ratings on his papers. Jurassic Park - Book vs. Movie There are always going to be differences between movies and the novels they're based on - Not everything would transfer easily to the screen, and some things might ultimately be considered superfluous to the story. Recently re-discovered this little gem: a child's version of Jurassic Park where parts of the original (German dubbed) soundtrack were used. What makes this so odd is the fact that the film had been rated 12 years and older, meaning that the kids who listened to this CD(it was released in a series with mostly all Disney Stories, so aimed at 6 to 8 year olds), probably never got a chance to see the film itself, which must have made the sounds even more scarier. The packages says that a 28-page booklet with pictures (from the film ?) is included, but since it is my only copy, I still haven't opened it, so who knows....
