Reviewed by Patrick & Paul Gibbs   Out of Four 2015's   Jurassic World is a movie that has very much fallen victim to the "if it's so good, how come everybody liked it?" mentality, starting out as a literal monster hit that breathed life back into the franchise (even if it was heavily based on nostalgia) that received better reviews than either of the previous sequels to Steven Spielberg's classic. But the haters quickly took control of the narrative, and there was a major backlash against director Colin Trevorrow as he was branded the personification of white male privilege in Hollywood (and he made one incredibly stupid statement which helped fuel that, but otherwise it's really not fair to aim so much of the brunt of the anger at this very legitimate problem at him, any more than it would be to single out Paul Feig or Gary Ross for being white men hired to direct all female cast reboots.)   Jurassic World,  which was unabashedly silly (not the...

It's been revealed that Colin Trevorrow will return to direct Jurassic World 3.  THR reported the story.  They tell us: He is currently working with Pacific Rim: Uprising scribe Emily Carmichael on the script for the feature, which was announced last month by Universal and given a June 11, 2021 release.  Trevorrow and Carmichael will exec produce, along with franchise patriarch Steven Spielberg. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are returning as producers. Trevorrow was first tapped by Spielberg to direct the first installment in the rebooted franchise that hit theaters in 2015, going on to gross $1.6 billion at the global box office. Jurassic World sequel, Fallen Kingdom will be in theaters on June 22nd.  Lets not forget that if the sequel doesn't set the world on fire the third movie may not happen.  A lot of weight on the sequel to do well.  The box office takings will be an interesting watch when Fallen Kingdom comes out. Lucasfilm announced today that director Colin Trevorrow is no longer attached to Star Wars Episode IX. Anyone who rises quickly in Hollywood is likely to face a backlash, and few directors have seen the kind of meteoric rise that has been experienced by Colin Trevorrow. After one quirky indie hit, Safety Not Guaranteed , Trevorrow was surprisingly given the huge assignment of directing Jurassic World. That film quickly became one of the highest grossing movies of all-time, and then came one of the few even bigger directing jobs: Star Wars: Episode IX.   But Jurassic World has experienced the now inevitable Internet backlash nearly any popular film faces, and Trevorrow's follow-up film, The Book of Henry, has debuted to withering reviews.  With this has come some worry from online fans over Star Wars , and articles on sites like the Hollywood Reporter questioning him as the director of the final installment of this new trilogy. It's becoming a rare breed these days to find a good looking movie poster but this one for Colin Trevorrow's The Book of Henry really hits the mark.  The poster is illustrated by the hugely talented James Goodridge and reminds me of the classic posters of the 80's.  Trevorrow tweeted the poster yesterday and has become a hit with movie lovers.  You can watch the trailer below. It will come as no surprise that Universal plan on bringing us more dino-splicing-adventures after the success of Jurassic World.  In fact you can expect at least two more sequels to Jurassic World.  Universal Pictures' chairman Donna Langley revealed the news in a studio chief roundtable, saying (via  The Hollywood Reporter ): "Colin Trevorrow is busy working on an outline. "He's been working with Steven [Spielberg]. And they have an idea for the next two movies actually. It was designed as a trilogy, unbeknown to us. It's a happy surprise." Elsewhere, the as-yet unnamed sequel to Jurassic World will be released in the US on Friday, June 22, 2018, but will be out in UK cinemas from Thursday, June 7, 2018. Today at D23, Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn announced that writer-director Colin Trevorrow will direct  Star Wars : Episode IX, which is set for release in 2019. While production won’t begin for a few years, Trevorrow is heading to Lucasfilm this year to begin working with artists and his fellow  Star Wars  directors. “Colin is someone I’ve been interested in working with ever since I saw ‘Safety Not Guaranteed,’” says Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. “The power of that film paired with the enormous success of ‘Jurassic World’ speaks volumes about his abilities both as a storyteller and skilled filmmaker. A video featuring b-roll footage of all the behind-the-scenes action surrounding the filming of Jurassic World has surfaced. Some of the content has made its way into previously released videos that highlighted Chris Pratt, so that will be familiar, but much of it is new. There isn't anything that would be considered spoiler territory -- Much of the audio is murky, or missing entirely, and the rapid cuts don't allow for much in the way of context. The world press tour of Jurassic World started Friday in Paris and it didn't take long for some of the questions from the press to be focused on the next Jurassic World movie.   BadTaste.It was interviewing the director Colin Trevorrow and he revealed he will not be in the director's chair for the next one.  He said: “Jurassic Park is like Star Wars.
