This is a video of a lighting show performed to the song 'Wild Signals' by John Williams from the movie 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind.' The light show opened a concert for the Berkshire Symphony Orchestra at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.      Rachel

The Close Encounters Topps Trading Cards That Don't Feature The Main Character In 1978, Topps released a highly anticipated set of trading cards complete with their infamous chewing gum based on the Steven Spielberg UFO classic, Close Encounters of the Third Kind.  An interesting fact about the 66 card set is none of them feature the main character, Richard Dreyfuss (Roy Neary) or François Truffaut (Claude Lacombe.)  This was down to the company not securing rights to feature their likeness.  Instead, the card set focused on Ronnie Neary and her children. The Eleventh Commandment By John Williams Did you know that the music coming from the TV when Roy and his kids are watching the 1956 movie, The Ten Commandments in Steven Spielbergs, Close Encounters of the Third Kind is actually an original piece from John Williams written especially for the movie?  It's even got a name, "The Eleventh Commandment." The track can be found on the Intrada two CD album that was release in 2017 but is currently out of stock on their website.  I've included the link anyway in case you want to hunt it down. Taking A Look At One Of My Favourite Steven Spielberg Scenes: The Air Traffic Control Scene From Close Encounters of the Third Kind One of my favourite scenes in a Steven Spielberg movie is from the 1977 classic, Close Encounters of the Third Kind .  It's the traffic control scene where the operator asks the pilot if he wants to report a UFO.  The fact that we can get involved in a tense scene between a couple of aircraft completely off screen making us use our imagination to fill in the gaps is pure genius.  We hear the pilots trying to figure out what exactly they are witnessing as the object whizzes by getting too close to them.  Then they refuse to report a UFO for fear of stigma and not knowing what exactly they just saw.  It's a gripping scene that I never tire of watching.
