T oday's photo of the day comes from A.I. Artificial Intelligence .  Steven Spielberg and Haley Joel Osment check the script intently. Did you know that for the last seven minutes of A.I. the composer John Williams wrote a piano concerto, and it went over the length of the film. Steven Spielberg stopped the projector and told Williams to just let the music continue. Spielberg along with his editor Michael Kahn then re-edited the last seven minutes of movie into Williams' piano concerto. Spielberg did a similar thing years before E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), where he and Carol Littleton edited the last 15 minutes into Williams' music. Steven Spielberg still contacts all grown up Haley Joel Osment.  According to A.V Club the actor is still contacted not only by Spielberg who both worked to gether on A.I. but by Sixth Sense director, M Night Shyamalan. According to Osment, both M. Night Shyamalan (who directed Osment in "The Sixth Sense") and Steven Spielberg (who directed Osment in "A.I.") have contacted him "from time to time" and have "been kind over the years." As such, the actor -- who has enjoyed a comeback, of sorts, thanks to the IFC series "Spoils of Babylon" -- was not interested in trashing Shyamalan's recent output, which includes duds such as "The Last Airbender" and "After Earth."
