30 Minute Behind The Scenes Video on Super 8 Is A Wonderful Featurette - Must Watch.

I love a good behind the scenes featurette and this one on J.J. Abram's Super 8 is a gem.  Featuring Giacchino's music from the movie, it has a wonderful story from J.J. Abrams on his love for movies and how he became interested in making movies as a kid with his super 8 camera.  It even shows footage from his old movies.  Also the video has a lot of on set behind the scenes shots and at 27 minutes long its not your usual short talking head five minute featurette that you get shoved on a blu-ray just for filler.  Definitely worth watching. Have I mentioned Steven Spielberg is in the video?  Well as executive producer for Super 8 and a lot of the movie has his influence, of course he's in this.  There's an interesting story on how Spielberg and Abrams actually met. Do you like Super 8?  Let me know in the comments below Rob Wainfur @thebeardedtrio The Bearded Trio - The Site For Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, John Williams and a whole...

Super 8 Score: Behind The Scenes with Michael Giacchino, J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg

J.J. Abram's Super 8 is kind of a big screen "Stranger Things."  It has a retro feel, centres around kids and a monster terrorising a small town. Steven Spielberg was the executive producer for the movie and Michael Giacchino composed the impressive soundtrack.  Just like Abrams once said, the movie is a tribute to Spielberg's 70's and 80's alien movies, the soundtrack is a tribute to John Williams and Steven Spielberg as said by Giacchino in this video.  You can tell that Giacchino is a huge fan of Spielberg and Williams.  He says in the video: "Standing on the scoring stage with Steven Spielberg recording the music for this movie...that was a pretty nifty moment I have to say." Look out for Michael Giacchino's super 8 movies in the video which obviously was inspired by Steven Spielberg's E.T. The Extra Terrestrial. Track 1 from the soundtrack. Elle Fanning, Olivia Cooke, Lola Kirke Short-listed In Steven Spielberg's Movie

It seems that casting discussions for Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One is in full swing.  That's according to The Wrap . Elle Fanning, “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl” star Olivia Cooke and “Mistress America” breakout Lola Kirke are three of the top contenders for the female lead according to the website.  Fanning, Cooke and Kirke will test for the role of Art3mis, the avatar of Samantha Cook within the Oasis, which is the virtual reality universe at the center of the sci-fi story. Fanning will of course have previous experience with a Spielberg movie all be it an executive-produced movie as she appeared in the J.J. Abrams directed 2011 movie, Super 8. Ready Player One will see a release in December 2017 and is shaping up already to be one of his most anticipated movies in years. Some Rare Star Wars Photos You May Not Have Seen

Here are some rare Star Wars photos you may not have seen. Incidentally did anyone spot the George Lucas look-a-like in Super 8? He was in the crowd and looked very much like the classic Lucas just like the one below. It was the scene when they were having a police conference. If I find a photo I will post here for you.

Things I Loved About Super 8

Super 8 was everything I wanted it to be. I was a kid all over again watching the Spielberg greats of the seventies and eighties. Here’s a list of why the movie Super 8 worked so well for me. No glamour. It makes a refreshing change to watch a movie where the main characters of a movie not aimed at kids are kids. No models, no teenagers running around semi naked moaning that X hasn’t broken up with Y because Z said they shouldn’t etc. A Proper script with three dimensional characters and played by relatively unknowns. No big name actors. It Was Made With A Low Budget. Super 8 cost fifty million dollars to make. In comparison to other movies this is extremely low. Michael Bay has reportedly added thirty million dollars to the Transformers 3 budget alone just to get the 3D right. By having a low budget a good story and script had to be the biggest priority. Back in the seventies and eighties the BBC had very low production budgets in comparison to other TV com...

Super 8 Trailer Uses Cocoon Music With A Hint Of Close Encounters

Super 8 Trailer Features Cocoon Music I personally cannot wait for this movie.  Super 8 will feel very retro.  Set in the 70's this will feel like an old fashioned Spielberg movie and that's no bad thing.  directed by J. J. Abrams and produced by Steven Spielberg, and starring Elle Fanning, Amanda Michalka, and Kyle Chandler Super 8 hits theaters June 10, 2011 Set in 1979 Ohio, a group of six young children use a Super 8 camera to make their own zombie movie. One night while filming near a remote stretch of railroad tracks, the children witness a truck collide with an oncoming train leading to a catastrophic derailment. Amidst the fire and destruction, something inhuman emerge Watch the trailer and feel all warm inside as we return to the 70's and 80's with a hint of Close Encounters and The Goonies.  The music in the trailer is from Cocoon composed by James Horner.  Enjoy.  I cannot wait!
