The Lost World - An Introduction There was a ton of anticipation for this film when it hit in early summer of 1997. As is famously known, Steven Spielberg took four years off from directing after the one-two punch of Jurassic Park (1993) and Schindler's List (1993). I remember buying the original soundtrack in '97 with that amazing 3D packaging which over the years has become a bit battered and bruised. The great thing about John Williams when he scores a sequel is his refusal to rely on what has come before. Think of The Temple of Doom, now compare it to Raiders, or Empire Strikes Back compared to Star Wars. Remember the "bendy" RV from The Lost World: Jurassic Park?  Well it's been up for sale on Ebay and only went for $15,100.  That's just under £10,000! The vehicle was sold by Theme Park Connection - a specialist in buying and selling Disney movie props and memorabilia. Based on a 1997 Fleetwood Southwind Storm, the motorhome and trailer was customised in to mobile lab for Ian Malcom, played by Jeff Goldblum, Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore) and Nick Van Owen (Vince Vaughn). According to the eBay advert, the motorhome is "an authentic, original prop which was designed and constructed for the film". It is one of several RVs made for the movie and is heavily featured throughout up until it the scene when it is pushed over a cliff by two Tyrannosaurus Rex - one of the film's most classic scenes.  The excellent Stan Winston School Youtube channel yet again bring us some wonderful insight into how the brought movie magic to the big screen.  In this video they explain how they made those pesky little critters in The Lost World come to life.  You know the ones?  The ones that tore that poor fellow to shreds in the stream.
