John Williams Has Never Seen A Star Wars Movie.

@gettyimages John Williams , the oxygen of Star Wars revealed to The Mirror  in an interview that he hasn't actually watched a Star Wars movie: "I let it go. I have not looked at the 'Star Wars' films and that's absolutely true," the 84-year-old composer said. "When I'm finished with a film, I've been living with it, we've been dubbing it, recording to it, and so on. You walk out of the studio and, 'Ah, it's finished.'" "Now I don't have an impulse to go to the theater and look at it. Maybe some people find that weird," he added. "I'm not particularly proud of that, I have to say, but it's also part of the fact that I finished 'Star Wars' now and I'm already working on Spielberg's new film and I don't want to listen to music or see films." The humble John Williams also talked about how he has to constantly work to achieve a level he finds acceptable and how it does...

The Rebellion Through A Different Lens. Guest Post By Mark Newbold

© 2016 Lucasfilm Ltd. T he story of the mission to steal the plans for the Death Star always felt like it was destined to be a part of the wider ‘back story’, at best told in a comic, a novel at best. 2012 and the sale of Lucasfilm to Disney changed all of that, opening the floodgates of opportunity and giving Lucasfilm/Disney a much broader canvas to paint their stories on. That canvas wasn’t framed exclusively by the saga of the Skywalker family. Much like the onscreen animated adventures in Star Wars Rebels, big screen adventures were not required to adhere to the ‘saga’ format. No John Williams bombast, no opening scroll, no wipes and pans, no focus on the Skywalker clan. The galaxy had gone widescreen and muck like K-2SO’s observation on Jedha, suddenly there were no horizons. John Knoll’s original pitch, back in the mid 2000’s to Rick McCallum for the Underworld TV series and later to Kathleen Kennedy after the Disney acquisition is already the stuff of movie lore, but brin...

Movie Review: "Passengers" is a Bumpy Ride That Fails To Reach its Destination

Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Pratt, Michael Sheen, Laurence Fishburne, Andy Garcia Written by Jon Spaihts Directed by Morten Tyldum Reviewed by Patrick Gibbs Out of Four This is a difficult movie to review without a lot of spoilers, but I'm going to do my best. Set in the semi distant future when Earth is grossly overpopulated and only partially habitable, Passengers   begins with the Starship Avalon on a 120-year voyage transporting over 5000 colonists to Homestead II, on of several plants ripe for colonization owned by the Homestead Corporation. The long journey requires all of the passengers and crew of the luxury liner to remain in cryo-sleep, but a malfunction wakes up a passenger, mechanical engineer Jim Preston (Chris Pratt) 90-years early.
