Steven Spielberg and His Cargo Space On Board The Space Shuttle

B ack in 1978 hot off the success of Close Encounters of the Third Kind there were strong rumours that the director, Steven Spielberg was working on a sequel.  Columbia Pictures were eager for a sequel, Spielberg not so much, but at the same time he didn't want anyone else going anywhere near his UFO masterpiece.  A sequel was planned, a working title or titles I should say were pencilled in.  'Watch The Skies' later to become 'Night Skies' produced many rumours at the time and one particular story was surfacing in more than one publication.  Steven Spielberg had booked cargo space on the inaugural flight of NASA's brand new project, the Space Shuttle . Starburst - May 1978 Flicking through a copy of Starburst magazine from May, 1978 I came across a couple of lines in the 'Things to Come' section and it mentions Steven Spielberg is planning on sending a camera up into space aboard the Space Shuttle to get shots for the sequel to Close Encounter

Steven Spielberg Set To Be Executive Producer For New Men In Black Movie

The Bearded Trio has been informed that Steven Spielberg will once again be executive director for a Men in Black movie.  Spielberg will executive produce the MIB spin-off which is slated for a release on 17th May, 2019. According to Hollywoodreporter.com , Iron Man writers Matt Holloway and Art Marcum are on board for the project which apparently Sony Pictures are eager to get release so are fast tracking the movie. The spin off movie will have completely new characters so Agents K and J will be out and new agents will be in.  Will the new film be as successful as its predecessors?  It's got a lot of work to do as the first film (1997) took a whopping $589 million worldwide and led to two sequels. REVIEW - Universal Studios Pinball Tables Featuring E.T. Jaws and Back to the Future From Zen Studios

Zen Studios bring us three pinball tables based on classic movies from Universal Studios.   Jaws, Back to the Future and E.T. The Extra Terrestrial are the movies represented and will cost you £6.99 for the three.  I must add that you have to download Pinball FX3 first which is the platform these tables play on.  Don't worry, that's free and you get a free table included called Sorcerer's Lair.  Think of Pinball FX3 as your Steam for pinball tables.  Your purchases will always be there and thankfully the clever people at Zen Studios have made sure your old tables that you bought for Pinball FX2 are all compatible.  The latest incarnation has had a face lift and now all your table purchases are neatly organised on one screen that expands when you hover over them. Pinball FX3 has a neat interface As a Spielberg fan I was eager to play the three tables based on Universal's classics and Jaws was the first I fired up.  I was testing on a laptop with an I7 process

Building an X-wing fighter part 2: stay on target, stay on target

The second part of the making a replica x-wing trilogy sees - to paraphrase The Matrix - guns, lots of guns.   You can read part one here. As this Star Wars universe giant jigsaw of a model won't be seen in all of its glory until it is fitted together all we see mouth-watering glimpses of what a huge project this is. And it's all built by one man, Dave Taylor from Essex. Little wonder then that the first part chartering his own personal Star Wars journey amassed more than 2500 views in less than 24 hours. This week is crunch week – which almost sounds like something from The Great British Bake Off - as in less than a week the mammoth project doesn't just have to be completed, it has to be constructed for a Star Wars-themed Feel the Force day which will see it being constructed during the night at a local shopping centre. Exciting stuff, and that's something that it's artist,  sculptor and Star Wars fan Dave would say still say rings true. And

Ryan Gosling Mentions In Interview He's Working To Get Indiana Jones Role

Eric Charbonneau/Invision for Warner Bros/AP Images During the promotion of Bladerunner 2049, E! News interviewed Ryan Gosling who stars in the movie along side Harrison Ford.  While being interviewed the team asked Gosling about whether he would like to star in Indy V.  He replied: "I'm working on it man… easy." He then jokingly added: "You just blew it for me." The man was kind of joking but the Internet has taken this statement and completely run with it.  Some stating that Gosling is the next Indiana Jones.  I sense from the tone that it was a throw away line but with a hint of Gosling hoping he gets a part.  Nothing to lose so to speak.  Can't blame him. Indy V will be bull whipping its way onto cinema screens around 2020.  What do you think?  Would you like to see Ryan Gosling in the next Indiana Jones movie? Star Trek Discovery - My Thoughts On The First Episode *Spoiler Free*

Here are my spoiler free thoughts on Star Trek Discovery.   I am a huge Star Trek fan and think Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is the finest TV ever made.  How does Star Trek Discovery do and is it worthy of have the Star Trek name? The first think I must say about Star Trek Discovery is it looks incredible, probably one of the best looking TV series I've ever seen.  I really mean this!  The battle sequences are up there with anything I've seen on the small screen or the big screen for that matter.  It looks like Star Trek with a hint of Mass Effect at times.  Very pleasing on the eye.  The technology used sometimes looks a little advanced for the timeline but I can forgive this for artistic licence. The sound effects are pleasing, especially for a Trek fan like me.  From time to time you get a familiar chime or alert sound that you know all too well from previous incarnations of Trek. For a pilot episode it has a lot of potential.  Not the strongest Trek pilot in regar
