Press Release From Lucasfilm: Kathleen Kennedy To Attend Celebration Europe II

Just had the news sent to us from Lucasfilm that Kathleen Kennedy will attend Celebration Europe II in Germany this July.  This fuels my theory that the event will be a huge soap box for announcing a bundle of Star Wars VII news.  With the President of Lucasfilm announced I don't think she's attending for autographs.  Stay tuned. Lucasfilm writes: Kathleen Kennedy, the President of Lucasfilm and producer of  Star Wars  Episode VII, will make her inaugural  Star Wars  Celebration appearance in Essen this July. Kennedy will make an appearance on the main Celebration stage talking with celebrity host Warwick Davis about her amazing career in the movie industry and her recent move to Lucasfilm.  “When I joined Lucasfilm, I immediately saw the true passion shared by  Star Wars  fans around the world.  I’m thrilled to attend my first Star Wars  Celebration and see in person that energy that makes the  Star Wa...

Simon Pegg Answers Our Tweet On His Prequel Bashing

Earlier tonight we tweeted Simon Pegg regarding his prequel bashing of late. In his defence he did reply. Check out the tweets below. @ thebeardedtrio Please don't take it personally. I'm only angry because I care. Towing the party line would be hypocrisy. — Simon Pegg (@simonpegg) May 14, 2013 What do you think of Pegg's prequel bashing and response? Rob @welshslider

Simon Pegg Not Interested In Being In Star Wars. Runs Down Prequels AGAIN!

Simon Pegg has revealed that he is not pursuing a role in JJ Abrams's Star Wars: Episode VII "It's not one of my great wishes to be in Star Wars, I'd love to go to the cinema and just watch it." Well that's good news. But he couldn't leave it there. In the interview with Industria magazine it also seems that Pegg, as usual, is taken every opportunity lately to express his dislike for the Star Wars prequels. We reported a few days ago that Pegg, in an interview with Total Film was expressing his distaste for the prequel movies, and here we are again a few days later. "I'll always have a soft spot for George Lucas because he made the original films, but those prequels were dreadful and if he were making more Star Wars films, I'd be worried." I get it! We all do. Shish! I mean I know the Prequels were not everyone's cup of tea and you have a right to dislike something but Pegg seems to go out of his way to keep reminding people...

VIDEO: Monster Maker Interview - Innovator & Master Creature Fabricator - Bill Bryan

For years, Bill was Steve Johnson's secret weapon at Steve Johnson's XFX, designing creatures in the wild boom times of the 1980s and 90s out of plastic bags, foam and air. He brought his special skills and knowledge to the Stan Winston Studio on JURASSIC PARK III and other projects, but is perhaps still best known for his turn as the suit-maker and performer of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from GHOSTBUSTERS. In this interview, Bill explains where he came from, the extraordinary meeting of luck and talent that brought him to success as a Hollywood creature fabricator, and gives some insight into his unique and entertaining creative process. Come join the ride. Check out the Bill Bryan Interview BLOG POST: https://www.stanwinstonschool.com/blo... Quick Fire Questions - This Week We Question Paul Bateman

This week answering our quick fire questions we have an Emmy nominated concept artist, art director and Star Wars fan Paul Bateman.  Paul was the friend of and worked with the legend, Ralph Mcquarrie.  He has worked on a bunch of movies including Harry Potter and Revenge Of The Sith and is a frequent contributor to the always excellent RebelForce Radio with Jimmy Mac and Jason Swank. Let the questions commence: You're stuck in a swamp on Dagobah.  What one movie, TV show, album and book would you take? MOVIE:  Absolute no-brainer.  I’d miss ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ way too much to be without it.  ‘Empire’ is my favourite film by a light-year.   I love every frame of it so much. From start to finish it transports me completely, absolute cinematic perfection. TV SHOW:  I really enjoyed the reinvented ‘Battlestar Galactica’. I just wish that the Syfy channel hadn’t dropped the ball on ‘BSG Blood and Chrome’. It seems complete...

Star Wars VII To Be Shot In The UK. Tax Breaks Big Motivator.

So it seems the news is now official.  Star Wars is coming back home. Star Wars VII is to be filmed in the UK thanks to some tax breaks instigated by UK chancellor George Osbourne who met executives from Lucasfilm in London earlier this year to discuss the plans and the production is thought to be eligible for a tax break.  He said: "Today's announcement that the next Star Wars film will be shot and produced in the UK is great news for fans and our creative industries, and it is clear evidence that our incentives are attracting the largest studios back to the UK. "I am personally committed to seeing more great films and television made in Britain." In a statement, Kathleen Kennedy, Lucasfilm president, said: "We've devoted serious time and attention to revisiting the origins of Star Wars as inspiration for our process on the new movie, and I'm thrilled that returning to the UK for production and utilising the incredible talent there can be a pa...

Simon Pegg Takes A Pop At The Star Wars Prequels...Again.

Simon Pegg is at it again. He just can't seem to help himself running down the prequels. In an interview with Total Film "What will he bring to the franchise? Everything that was missing from the last three. "That's what he did to Star Trek, really - invigorate it with a little bit of Star Wars magic. He switched it from science fiction to science fantasy. "And I think if anyone can pull [Star Wars] out of the mire, it's JJ. He'll bring the fun back. Lucas seemed to misread what made the first ones great, and concentrate on things that people didn't really care about, or wilfully ignore the things that people cared about. Whereas JJ will embrace them all." Its amazing that even though he has always expressed his dislike for the Star Wars prequels and continues to, he managed to get work on The Clone Wars (set in the prequel universe) and expresses his interest in appearing in the new Star Wars movies. Maybe he should concentrate more...
