While at London Film & Comic Con I was lucky enough to talk to Falling Skies Bruce Gray.  His character was the popular Uncle Scott from series one in which he appeared in eight episodes. Bruce Gray is no stranger to sci-fi having appeared in Star Trek, Stargate and Starship Troopers but it was his time on the set of Falling Skies that I was most interested in.  In particular whether he remembers seeing Spielberg (executive producer)  at any time during his shoot. Variety are reporting that Disney's stock is up 1.3%.  The answer for this, despite The Lone Ranger not doing particularly well at the box office (thats putting it mildly) could be due to Star Wars.  Credit Suisse analyst Michael Senno estimates that Star Wars VII will bring in a healthy $1.2 billion in global ticket sales giving the company a $733 million profit.  This number was calculated by taking the numbers from the previous Star Wars movies and Disney's track record with large movies such as The Avengers. LFCC London Film & Comic Con - A Review  I 've just got back from London Film & Comic Con organised by Showmasters and can tell you that the organisers put on a hell of a show. Turning up on the Saturday we were hit by a queue that trailed the length of Earls Court 2 and beyond. We were walking for fifteen minutes before we finally reached the end of the queue. Thinking we were going to be enduring the queue and the intense London heat for some time, we were pleasantly surprised when the doors were finally opened and we were let in. The queue disappeared in less than 10 minutes. Once inside we headed for the organisers desk to get our press passes but unfortunately they were already out of the badges so they signed our letters which would serve their purpose for the weekend. Dr Allen Hynek and Steven Spielberg Steven Spielberg and the cast and crew of Close Encounters talk about Dr Allen Hynek who was an UFO specialist.  Initially a skeptic of UFOs, Hynek worked with the government on Project Bluebook and eventually became a believer and was convinced the governments of the world were and are holding back knowledge on the existence of UFOs. I have watched a few films of late but none have made me want to write kind words about them until I came across this low budget treat packed with high quality special effects (for a low budget film) and a relatively strong if simple story. Set in a city which has been used as a guinea pig area for a new robot workforce living side by side with humans. For the first time a news crew has been allowed in to report on this experiment, as they are there they witness the robots turn on man. Fearing there is noway for them to escape they carry on reporting so that the world will know what the robots are capable of. The robots themselves are reminiscent of white versions Maximilian from The Black Hole and interact well with the human actors and their surroundings. The cast is made up of TV and low budget movie actors with the most recognisable being Lani John Tupu from Farscape who plays Gordon Standish, a wealthy businessman who designed the robots ans Zoe Nayor...
