Requirements
Tech manager for on-site film production crew at Pinewood facility. Responsible for operational and technical support for all staff and systems in use onsite at facility.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Support key clients and creative staff on shows. Manage, engineer and implement technical solutions in support of production and leverage vendors / Lucasfilm technology teams as needed.
• Ensure technology operations are running smoothly, and drive to improve overall processes in line with client expectations.
• Work with Lucasfilm IT / Security teams to ensure alignment around technology, as well as understand and implementing security best practices.
• Manage IT Production Support Technician, delegating workload as needed to ensure client satisfaction and act as their point of escalation.
Job Requirements:
Education / Experience:
• Significant production support experience. Fast-paced, high pressure, production environment experience is required
• Proven track record managing film production / post production facilities, including examples of solving problems on the fly / working to tight deadlines.
Required Skills / Competencies:
• Friendly, approachable and a “can do” attitude.
• Rapid response to technical challenges- must be able to “think / act quickly” to resolve new technology needs for production.
• Exceptional level of communication- listening, understanding and effective communication to demonstrate to the client that you can solve their problem.
• Self-starter, energetic, strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
• Proactive approach to supporting technology- demonstrate you can prevent problems, vs reacting to them.
• Staff management experience.
• Able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
Preferred Skills / Competencies:
• Ability to manage time effectively, and triage and prioritize based on production needs.
• Ability to manage vendor relations / coordinate work across multiple groups.
• Demonstrated ability to drive to production deadlines.
• Detailed, methodical approach to troubleshooting and resolving issues.
Technical Skills:
• Hardware familiarity with consumer level technology (MacBook, etc).
• Understanding basic network security concepts, architectures.
• Strong Mac knowledge, OS X Server a plus.

Requirements
The local support technician would be responsible for day to day support for all production users, and coordinate closely with IT staff at LDAC as needed.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Provide primary technical support on behalf of IT to all production employees, and escalate issues accordingly with Support Manager / Vendors / IT groups.
• Maintain production servers as per best practices.
• Ensure that all data is secured and archived as appropriate.
• Regularly test recovery process to ensure production expectations around disaster recovery are met.
• Recommend / develop / implement technical solutions to production as needed – work to meet specific deadlines.
Job Requirements:
Education / Experience:
• Experience working in a desktop role. Fast-paced, high pressure, film / TV production environment experience is required.
• Proven track record supporting film production / post production facilities, including examples of solving problems on the fly.

Production Coordinator

The Production Coordinator reports to the Production Manager. Provide general show support to the Production Manager, VFX and CG Supervisors to help ensure show leadership team is able to operate in an organized and efficient manner. Primary emphasis is on scheduling, communication and coordination on behalf of the show leadership team.
Understanding of the visual effects pipeline is essential.
Proactively establish communication channels and processes with key point-persons in ILM on the outset of new projects.
Schedule, track, and manage assigned work. Ensure work is on schedule for each department and is meeting internal and external deadlines.
Assign artists to shots/work to ensure overall production schedule is being met.
Understand skill set of artists group and schedule tasks effectively for optimal utilization of resources.
Serve as key communication liaison between all parties relevant to your work. Provide updates, priorities, reschedules, and status of all shots.
Facilitate effective communication between the ILM SG and ILM groups. Advocate for ILM SG and follow up on outstanding issues with ILM to ensure work can move forward on schedule whenever possible.
Generate & distribute weekly updates for leadership on production logistics as requested.
Proactively anticipate and communicate issues to ILM SG and ILM leadership team(s) to reach solutions in a timely manner.
Track information using ILM standard Production Tracking System in a manner exemplifying facility-wide best practices.
Supervise and train assigned Production Assistant(s) and/or Intern(s) as needed.
Provide input for annual artist performance reviews.
If assigned to do so, act as primary point person for organizing dailies/shot reviews throughout the day on behalf of the Key Creatives. Take notes regarding feedback and decisions made and enter any required information into the system so as to provide updates to all others impacted.
Reserve equipment and resources as needed.
Creative problem solving skills and effective time management skills required.
Please be an effective team player and effective communicator.
Perform special projects as needed. Additional Responsibilities as Needed on Shows.
Role may require weekend work depending on show schedules.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Film, Art, Drama or related field or equivalent work experience required.
Three years work experience in production to include strong working knowledge of post production techniques and terminology.
Previous experience scheduling work within a production environment required.
Proficiency in Macs/PCs including Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of UNIX required.
Working knowledge of Filemaker Pro a plus. Facility of learning new software packages and tools required.
Must possess very strong organizational and communication skills and be able to handle a variety of tasks in an efficient manner while meeting deadlines.

Explaining That "Weird" Cut In Poltergeist. Read The Missing Scene

Why Is There A Strange Cut In The 1982 Horror Classic, Poltergeist?
