For me having Mark Hamill in Star Wars VII is essential. He's a great actor and would fit back into the role as Luke quite easily.

I definitely think Hamill should be back! I can imagine an introductory scene where some kind of action sequence or fight has just occurred, and in the aftermath a cloaked figure walks up to someone involved, draws back his hood, to reveal Luke, bearded and all. Maybe a little of the same musical cues from when we meet Ben in ANH.
