Steven Spielberg has donated $500,000 to March for Our Lives. The movie director along with his wife, Kate Capshaw have donated the money to assist with the cost of the event which will take place on March 24th in Washington DC. The website tell us:
On March 24th, the kids and families of March For Our Lives will take to the streets of Washington DC to demand that their lives and safety become a priority and that we end gun violence and mass shootings in our schools today.
March with us in Washington DC or march in your own community. On March 24, the collective voices of the March For Our Lives movement will be heard.
The event has been arranged after the horrific events that took place at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida where a lone shooter killed 17 people.
In a statement to Deadline, Steven and Kate released a statement: “The young students in Florida and now across the country are already demonstrating their leadership with a confidence and maturity that belies their ages...Kate and I applaud their efforts to take a stand for the benefit of this and future generations. They are an inspiration to us all, and we are joining in this movement with a donation of $500,000.
