Lucasfilm Veterans Form Jaunt To Specialise In Cinematic VR

A group of Lucasfilm veterans have come together to form a company called Jaunt. Specialising in "cinematic VR' or virtual reality. Their aim is to being a different form of storytelling when it comes to watching movies.

Former CTO of Lucasfilm, Cliff Plumer is leading the new studio with two other former Lucasfilm veterans, David Anderman and Miles Perkins joining at the Palo Alto office.

Recode.net tells us:

The new studio will partner with media companies, film studios and brands in Hollywood to develop live-action videos with Jaunt’s 360-degree camera and rendering technology, similar to the Paul McCartney concert clip the company released last year.
“This is still new ground,” Plumer said in an interview with Re/code. “There’s things we’re leveraging from how we’ve created movies in the past, but we want to work with existing filmmakers and show them this is a different way of storytelling.”

Explaining That "Weird" Cut In Poltergeist. Read The Missing Scene

Why Is There A Strange Cut In The 1982 Horror Classic, Poltergeist? If you're a fan of the 1982 Horror classic, Poltergeist then you will be very familiar with that "weird" cut in the movie. It's 32 minutes and 47 seconds in to the movie and the scene is where Diane is explaining the strange phenomenon that is happening in the kitchen. First, she shows to Steve a chair scraping across the floor all on its own then she does the same with Carol Anne.
