Frank Marshall Sets The Record Straight On Goonies 2

Last year Richard Donner started talking Goonies 2. In an interview with Collider, Frank Marshall puts the record straight on where exactly the project is in regards to progress. Answer? Not that far. Here's the snippet about Goonies 2 from the article:

Last year, Richard Donner started generating some real buzz about Goonies 2. Is there real heat behind that now?

MARSHALL: It’s in discussion. He’s talked to us about it, and we’ve talked to him. It’s all about the story. We don’t just do sequels to do them. The story has to be there.

So, there isn’t a new script?

MARSHALL: Not yet.

But he wants one?

MARSHALL: Yeah, he’s saying, “Okay, who’s got an idea?”

Obviously, it doesn’t matter how big the fan base is, if there isn’t an idea.

MARSHALL: Yeah, that’s very important. You don’t want to disappoint the fans by just doing a schlocky movie. You want to do a real legitimate movie. It’s not going to be a sequel. In the Amblin spirit of Goonies, that’s what has to be.

Indiana Jones was also mentioned but I get the impression Frank Marshall wanted to change the subject in the interview. In other words, there's no news.

Why Is There A Strange Cut In The 1982 Horror Classic, Poltergeist? If you're a fan of the 1982 Horror classic, Poltergeist then you will be very familiar with that "weird" cut in the movie. It's 32 minutes and 47 seconds in to the movie and the scene is where Diane is explaining the strange phenomenon that is happening in the kitchen.
