Mark Rylance Cast as the Giant in Steven Spielberg's Adaptation of 'The BFG'

Tony Award-winning actor Mark Rylance has been cast as the giant in Steven Spielberg's adaptation of the classic children's book by Roald Dahl, The BFG. Rylance is currently working with Spielberg on the Cold War drama St. James Place.

Of the casting, Spielberg had this to say:

“As I witnessed on stage, Mark Rylance is a transformational actor,” said Spielberg. “I am excited and thrilled that Mark will be making this journey with us to Giant Country. Everything about his career so far is about making the courageous choice and I’m honored he has chosen ‘The BFG’ as his next big screen performance.”

The BFG is expected to being filming early in 2015, and it has a U.S. release date of July 1, 2016.

Explaining That "Weird" Cut In Poltergeist. Read The Missing Scene

Why Is There A Strange Cut In The 1982 Horror Classic, Poltergeist? If you're a fan of the 1982 Horror classic, Poltergeist then you will be very familiar with that "weird" cut in the movie. It's 32 minutes and 47 seconds in to the movie and the scene is where Diane is explaining the strange phenomenon that is happening in the kitchen.
