Information on Two Upcoming John Williams Events - 'Behind the Score' and 'Maestro at the Movies'

John Williams and Gustavo Dudamel, the director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, will appear onstage together in a conversation about film composing. The event, Behind the Score: The Art of the Film Composer, is being organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. It will take place at the Bing Theater located in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on July 21. Oscar-winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla will also be participating.

John Williams will also be conducting an evening of his most recognizable scores - John Williams: Maestro at the Movies - at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday, August 29 and Saturday, August 30. He will be joined by special guest Seth MacFarlane.

Why Is There A Strange Cut In The 1982 Horror Classic, Poltergeist? If you're a fan of the 1982 Horror classic, Poltergeist then you will be very familiar with that "weird" cut in the movie. It's 32 minutes and 47 seconds in to the movie and the scene is where Diane is explaining the strange phenomenon that is happening in the kitchen.
