Tickets went on sale at 9 a.m. Monday morning for a one-time benefit concert featuring director Steven Spielberg and composer John Williams - and then promptly sold out in 15 minutes.
Williams will be conducting the Detroit Symphony Orchestra on June 14th, while Spielberg will be the host for the evening. The event is expected to raise $1 million for the DSO.
Fans began camping out on Sunday night, and by Monday morning a long line had formed outside the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Detroit. The DSO, anticipating a large turn-out, provided pizza and donuts to the fans.
Tickets for the Heroes Gala package are still available. The package includes seats for the concert and a black-tie dinner honoring local investors, and the price per plate is $1,000.
