George Lucas has given a some what detailed interview over at Bloomberg Businessweek about the take over of Lucasfilm from Disney. But whats really interesting is the slight slip up by Lucas that admits that they are in final negotiations with Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford to be in Star Wars VII. He says:
“We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison — or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation."
As soon as he said this he realised his slip up and tried to dig out of the "whoops" hole he just created by adding:
“Maybe I’m not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them. I won’t say whether the negotiations were successful or not.”
It doesn't really come as much of a surprise as every site reporting on Star Wars VII has speculated that the original cast would be in the new movie in some form and Carrie Fisher announced in another interview a few days ago that she would be in the movie but its kind of amusing that this slip up has come from the big G.L. himself.
