Warner Bros. Entertainment and J.K. Rowling announced today that they are to develop a new series of films inspired by Harry Potter’s Hogwarts textbook “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” and the adventures of the book’s fictitious author, Newt Scamander. The movies like the book will take place seventy years before Harry Potter and will start in New York.  Harry Potter author, Rowlings said she has no intention of this new series being a sequel to Harry Potter.  She was keen to state: “The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt’s story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry’s gets underway,” This will be good news for the British movie industry as it's likely the new series of films will be shot in the UK like the Harry Potter movies before it. The Jurassic Park IV news we've been waiting for was finally announced yesterday via the official Jurassic Park Facebook page. The news is the movie will be released on June 12th 2015 (what a year for movies that year is going to be) Also announced is the name of the movie. No longer will it be called Jurassic Park IV but Jurassic World. Lets hope Colin Trevorrow does a good job on Jurassic World. This has the potential to be the must see movie of 2015 (yes including that other movie.) Rob @welshslider

Steven Spielberg has expressed an interest in making a film about Daniel O’Connell after learning about him while researching his film on Abraham Lincoln, Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht, Jimmy Deenihan has said. Spielberg who has expressed his keenness to film in Ireland again apparently discussed the possibility of making a film about the man who won Catholic emancipation with Daniel Day Lewis who worked with the director on the movie, Lincoln. Deenihan said “I certainly think there is a major film in O’Connell – I recently met Stephen Spielberg and Daniel Day-Lewis and I mentioned O’Connell to them and gave them Prof Patrick Geoghegan’s book on O’Connell and they had already discussed it before I mentioned it which is very encouraging. “Nothing is certain but the success of Lincoln makes a stronger case for O’Connell who was a friend of Frederick Douglas, who was an influence on Lincoln – it would have an international appeal given O’Connell’s role in the an...

Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park remains top of China's box office week ending September 1st.  The movie took 100 million Yuan which is just over 16 millions U.S dollars bringing the total for China's release to over 300 million Yuan since it's premier on August 20th. The 3d re-release of Jurassic Park has seen the Dino movie join the one billion dollar club since it's release in 1993.
