Force Trees: It’s Energy Surrounds Us

Yoda and the cave a.k.a. "The Domain of Evil"
“Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you. Here, between you … me … the tree ... the rock … everywhere! Yes, even between the land and the ship.” – Master Yoda to Luke in The Empire Strikes Back

As fans of Star Wars, we’re all privy to this quote by our little green friend, Master Yoda. But as of late, due to all the latest hearsay and crazy fan theories, the true meaning behind it all may in fact, be different from what we first had suspected all those years ago. For example, the most recent excerpt of the upcoming novel, Life Debt by Chuck Wendig sheds some new light on the Force and its connection with trees. Just in that tiny tidbit, we now know that Luke was instructing Leia in the ways of the Force and through a tree sapling, acting as a conduit for meditations. You must unlearn what you have learned, comes to mind.

Trees not only absorb carbon dioxide and transform it into oxygen, but they can also absorb negative forces and transform them into good energy. Trees strongly root with the Earth, and the more rooted the tree, the higher it can extend to Heaven. Trees stand very still, absorbing the Earth’s energy and the Universal Force from the Heavens. – says globalmediaplanet.info

That’s an interesting take and if the Lucasfilm story group were to take that concept or aspect, and apply that knowledge to the Force, it would stand to reason why Luke has taken-up a keen interest in the living Force a.k.a. trees. We see this in the Shattered Empire comic series via Marvel and now, as I previously said, in the upcoming sequel to Aftermath: Life Debt.
The Force Tree as seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars
But all this tree talk is painfully nonexistent where the strongest Force users, allegedly the Skywalker’s, are concerned. How do I mean? Two words, well, names rather: Tatooine and Jakku. Ok, the latter may or may not have anything to do with the Skywalker’s, but it’s a necessary mention of relevance. My point being, both father and son, Anakin and Luke are raised on the desert world of Tatooine.  Therefore, no trees, I mean none, zilch, nada. Ok, maybe there is one, but it is rare, as in scarce. Ivory Japor. Sound familiar? It should. The pendant little Anakin gives to Padme, the japor snippet; where there’s wood, there’s trees. But I digress …

So yes, Luke and Anakin grow up without the presence of trees. What does this mean? Think again. What happens to Anakin when he’s on Naboo? He pilots a Naboo fighter and single handedly takes out the Trade Federation Blockade! Hmm … was that his awakening? And what of Luke’s Force sensitivity on Yavin 4? Shortly after arrival, he takes on the entire Empire all by himself and destroys the first Death Star! Again, did the wildlife contribute to his heightened Force abilities? That being said, let’s take a look at Star Wars: The Force Awakens and cue Rey:

“I didn't know there was this much green in the whole galaxy.”

As soon as this sandy scavenger steps foot on the flourishing grounds of Takodana, her entire being seems to be infused with an immense amount of newfound sensitivity, hence the Force vision shortly after her arrival. Quite the conundrum, isn’t it?

Perhaps, there was a good reason for keeping these three on barren worlds, like keeping the Force within them dormant. After all, in order to wake up, one must first … sleep.

Did Paul Freeman Accidentally Eat A Fly In Raiders of the Lost Ark?

The Famous Indiana Jones Fly In Belloq's Mouth Scene.  Did It Really Happen? I've always wondered if Paul Freeman unintentionally consumed a fly in this scene in  Raiders of the Lost Ark ?  It's the scene where Indiana Jones shouts down to Bellosh...I mean Belloq and threatens to blow up the ark.  Did a fly go in his mouth? I remember watching this scene back in the early eighties and my ten year old mind thought he definitely had a snack while filming.  I recall talking about 'flygate' in my school playground at the time and the general consensus with my friends was that Freeman definitely had a sneaky snack. Paul Freeman talks about the famous 'fly' scene in an interview with TheIndyExperience.com  and settled 'flygate:' This is a bit of a dicey question so don’t get too upset. (Laughs) A movie’s always got bloopers in it, some have a lot, and some only have three or four. And the most remarkable blooper was right before the opening of th

Explaining That "Weird" Cut In Poltergeist. Read The Missing Scene

Why Is There A Strange Cut In The 1982 Horror Classic, Poltergeist? If you're a fan of the 1982 Horror classic, Poltergeist then you will be very familiar with that "weird" cut in the movie.  It's 32 minutes and 47 seconds in to the movie and the scene is where Diane is explaining the strange phenomenon that is happening in the kitchen.  First, she shows to Steve a chair scraping across the floor all on its own then she does the same with Carol Anne.  Steve leans up against the kitchen wall and is completely shocked at what just happened.  It's at this point Diane starts to explain the sensation of being pulled and then...A very abrupt cut.  One moment we are listening to Diane and suddenly it cuts to Diane and Steve at their next door neighbours door.  Why the sudden cut?  It's on the VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray and even the streaming versions.  Why does this awful and weird cut exist in the movie, Poltergeist?  Watch the clip below to see the cut: Well, the ans
