CBS announced today that Under the Dome will come to end with the episode airing September 10. Originally planned as a limited run, the series, based on Stephen King's novel and produced by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment, has lasted three seasons -- so it's probably fair to say it had a good run. "Two years ago, Under the Dome broke new ground in the summer and became an instant hit on CBS, as well as with viewers around the world," said CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler . "Dome’s event storytelling and multi-platform business model paved the way for more original summer programming with the successful rollouts of Extant and Zoo . We’re excited to present the final chapter in Chester’s Mill as the story comes full circle, with the Dome coming down as dramatically as it went up." We'll find out what happens when the dome finally comes down in the concluding episodes of Under the Dome , airing Thursdays on CBS at 9/8c. ...

For the last couple of weeks we have taken a first look at what we can expect ( for sure ) from Amblin Television in the near future. So after having looked at Public Morals , Extant and Falling Skies , it is now time to take a peek at the third season of Under the Dome . March 10, 1st day of shooting Earlier this month filming has started has started in Wilmington, North Carolina and even though the origin of the series is still the same book by Stephen King. There are still a lot of tales to be told. Executive Producer Neal Baer has stated in an interview that he knows the ending of the show and that five seasons of 13 episodes would be an ideal length. So if the ratings keep showing growth, we might see more of the inhabitants of Chester's Mill and their coping with the mysterious Dome that surrounds their city. The big surprise for this 3 rd season has to be the addition of Marg Helgenberger, the former star of Crime Scene Investigation ,...

Well, this is a good day for Steven Spielberg!   Under the Dome and Extant , both shows executive-produced by Spielberg, have been renewed by CBS - Dome for a third season, and Extant for a second season. Under the Dome has been a collaborative effort between author Stephen King (the series is loosely based on his novel of the same name) and Spielberg, with both acting as executive producers.  Extant star Halle Berry shares co-executive producing credit with Spielberg on that series. During its second season, Under the Dome averaged 11 million viewers in the 18-49 demographic, while Extant averaged 8.64 million.  Ratings were up for the Extant season finale, so that probably helped its chances for renewal. Spielberg's Extant featuring Halle Berry has been given air dates by CBS and good news for the other Spielberg produced show, Under The Dome as that gets a second season. CBS has announced the premiere dates for Extant, the new mini-series starring Halle Berry and co-produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin. The network also confirmed when Stephen King’s Under The Dome will be back for a second season. Extant stars Berry as an astronaut who arrives home after a year-long solo mission. Her life will have a surprising impact on human history. The show will start on Wednesday, July 9, rather than July 2 as previously stated. It will air at 9 p.m. Under The Dome, based on the King novel, will kick off its second season on Monday, June 30 at 10 p.m. The show tells the story of Chester’s Mill, a town that has been cut off from the world by a mysterious dome. Although the show was envisioned as a mini-series, its success last summer sparked the decision to expand it. http://theceleb...
