THX's 'Deep Note' Created With Human Voice Yes, you read that right.  How can someone re-create the famous THX sound, 'Deep Note' just by using their voice?  Well this clever chap does just that using the good old trusty Capella style. Mach Kobayashi re-created the THX sound by recording his voice 30 times.  He said on his blog post ,  'I recorded me singing with each of those 30 tracks playing in my earbuds, pitch corrected the 4 notes in Final Cut Pro X, and edited the whole thing together.  Anyways, by the end of it, my throat was pretty sore but it was a fun experiment to recreate an iconic sound from my childhood.' The iconic THX 'Deep Note' sound you've been hearing before films screened in THX-certified movie theaters for the last few decades has just gotten a makeover.  The original sound was composed in 1982 by Dr. James "Andy" Moorer when he was a sound engineer at Lucasfilm. The new Deep Note, also by Dr. Moorer, has been optimized for 7.1 and Dolby Atmos audio, while the previous one - although remastered through the years - was designed for 5.1 surround sound, tops. THX describes the updated sound as "intensely more complex" with the express purpose of "taking the audience on an epic sensory journey." Was that goal accomplished?
