Sugarland Express was the first feature Spielberg directed on 35 mm, but it wasn't his first attempt at getting aboard in the film industry. Slightly more than a year before Sugarland Express was released 20th Century Fox released a totally different kind of film that was based on a story by the same Steven Spielberg. It had a very short run and was shelved for a long time afterwards. Recently discovered these great Theater Lobby Stills, and I'll just let them do the talking... Ronny.
