Star Wars Comic Review: Shattered Empire #4 The last instalment of the post Return Of The Jedi arc has come about too soon, out of all the comics are latest media releases, this is to me, by far the most intriguing. We join the Rebel Fleet in space where the Commanding Officers have gained intelligence indicating more Imperial attacks are on the horizon. Our heroine Shara is discussing the future with her Captain when he tells her that he has submitted her discharge papers so her and her husband can leave the Rebellion.  But before anything else can happen everyone's favourite Astromech droid R2-D2 attracts her attention and leads her to a certain  black clad Jedi, Luke Skywalker! Comic Review: Star Wars: Shattered Empire #3 A small band of Rebels led by Han Solo are secretly infiltrating a secret Imperial base on a snowy planet. They start destroying Walkers, speeder bikes and Stormtroopers with rocket launchers until the base is secure, after the fight has finished typically C-3PO arrives. Back in Theed, the capital of Naboo Princess Leia, The Queen of Naboo & Shara Bey come to the conclusion that the Imperials are attacking Naboo from space. Our butt kicking trio of heroines decide to jump in some Naboo Starfighters, as seen in Episode One: The Phantom Menace . Back at the Imperial Base the Rebels have broken into the heart of the complex and C-3PO has found information about The Emperors attack on Naboo from beyond the grave, Han quickly realises that Leia is in serious trouble. Comic Review Chewbacca #1   Lets kick off with everyones favouite walking carpet Chewbacca and his very own adventure! A girl and her dad have been put to work in a mine filled with what looks like candy floss to pay off a debt to a weird looking alien type debt collector with a goldfish bowl for a helmet.  The dad smuggles his daughter out Indiana Jones style in a mine car! We cut to Chewie who by the looks of it has crash landed his ship and jumped into some flowers to have a nap?! Chewie goes into town to try and get a new ship part and he bumps into the girl who it seems nobody likes and various weird aliens just want to sell her out and chase her into a run down casino!   The Wookie goes gambling to raise money for his ship parts and finds the girl hiding in the gambling establishment and lo and behold they start becoming friends. Star Wars Lando #5 & Darth Vader #10 Review Lets begin with Lando that slimy, smuggling scoundrel! Aboard the Emperors stolen ship the Bounty Hunter Canath Cha, who was sent to recover or destroy the ship, turns out to be an old colleague of Lando's and he smooth talks her round to his way by cutting her in on their deal to sell the ships treasures and who can resist this smooth talker, right? The 2 weird cat creatures arrive, but kill Landos arfifact specialist Ugnaught companion but while this is happening Lando & his Bounty Hunter lady friend escape and she sets off the ships self destruct! They have to escape the ship before it blows, but first they have to get the loin cloth wearing Lobot out of the Bacta Tank which happens, but then the pesky lightsaber wielding cats turn up again! Comic Review: Shattered Empire #2 & Star Wars #10

There is 4 comics to review! Why Marvel cant spread them out is beyond me, but I will split them in half and do 2 here and 2 in the next review! Shattered Empire #2   This story arc is part of the group of media that is titled 'Journey To The Force Awakens', in the run up to the movie release. A mysterious red cloaked figure is talking to an Imperial Captain on the bridge of a Star Destroyer somewhere in the Outer Rim.  The messenger conveys a message from The Emperor. On another Planet just after The Battle of Endor the Imperial war machine is still wreaking havoc, trying to stop it in its tracks is a small band of Rebels in A-Wing fighters, whom after back up arrives, get the upper hand and destroy an AT-AT walker in the process and safely return to base. The Rebel fleet is assembling in space and their leader Mon Mothma is briefing Princess Leia on a mission she must attempt. ...

Marvel Kanan; The Last Padawan #5 Review

The awesomeness that is Kanan: The Last Padawan continues in A Galaxy Far Far Away......... The Clones that were hunting a young padawan called Caleb Dume finally capture him and his new friends. Back on the Clones' ship it transpires that the Clones were supposed to kill Caleb and not take him prisoner, he tries to appeal to the Clones' better nature and talk them into not killing him but they don't listen and the young Jedi, backed into a corner uses the Force to open an air lock which sucks him into the dark, empty void of space. Just in the nick of time, Calebs friends arrive in their ships, see what has happened and somehow manage to get him aboard a ship.  The Padawan survives but they are closely pursued and attacked by the Republic turned Imperial clone ship.  One of the Clones has a crisis of conscience and decides that what they are doing wrong and opens fire on his allies to save the kid! Marvel Star Wars #8 Comic Review

In Star Wars #7 you may remember that the comic took a foray into the world of Ben Kenobi in solitude on Tatooine, we return with this issue to the previous story arc! We return to the un-named planet where we saw to everyone's surprise, Han Solo's wife! After a bit of a verbal back and forth between Han, Leia & Sana Solo, Sana decides to give Leia up to the imperials and blows up Han & Leia's stolen shuttle! We cut to Luke Skywalker piloting his X-Wing and still on his quest to learn to become a Jedi Knight.  They Land on an un-savoury planet called Nar-Shadda and find a Cantina where Luke wants to find un-registered transport to Coruscant to visit the Jedi Temple.  Luke gets attacked, for seemingly no reason at all and ignites his lightsaber, an unknown assassin disarms Luke and steals his Jedi weapon. Marvel Darth Vader #8 Comic Review

Written by Kieron Gillen Art by Salvador Larroca Cover by Adi Granov Spoiler Alert!........ We join Vaders assistant 'Aphra' on a ship in the Outer Rim accompanied by some bounty hunters, they attack an Imperial Ship, board it and still some loot.  Some of the loot disappears into deep space though when the Astromech, who is key lets some go.  Back safe on their own ship, they share out the loot. We cut to Aphra meeting with a Wookie in a cave who was actually posing as one of the Bounty Hunters, in a clever double cross move, they siphoned off the lost loot for themselves, as the Wookie departs Aphra the archaeologist promises to help him with his 'problem'. At last Vader appears beside her in the cave. She asks him for help in aiding the Wookie but Vader gives her what appears to be a mission to complete within  a month. Star Wars (2015) #7 Written by Jason Aaron Art by Simone Bianchi Cover by John Cassaday The latest comic deviates into an Obi-Wan Kenobi spin-off special, focusing on the time period when Obi-Wan is in solitude on tattoine, keeping an eye on a young Luke Skywalker. A long time ago in a galaxy far far away........... We start at an unknown town on Tatooine, and a moisture farmer is being bullied out of his water by a gang of Jabba The Hutt's cronies, Tatooine is in the grips of a harsh drought!  Obi-Wan sees the scuffle but cant intervene for the fear of blowing his cover and the inhabitants finding out he is a Jedi. We see Ben's home in the desert, and we also see him looking over a young boys whom he thinks he should be training in the Jedi arts, but Owen Lars wont allow it.  Jabba's thugs turn up at the Lars' homestead to get the 'water tax', Ben however intervenes and uses a jedi mind trick to convince them to depart. ...

Marvel Star Wars Lando #1 Review

SPOILER ALERT! Lando is in a swish apartment admiring a trinket, on the bed behind him is a scantily clad lady called SSaria who is the Imperial Governor of the region! Lando tells her that he wanted to steal the jewelled item from her to pay off debts, but couldn't as he has feelings for her. We cut to a cantina and Lando is talking to his old friend with the metal implants headphones, Lobot.  Lando tells Lobot he has the Jewel and has hatched a scheming plan, as they are talking a large gruff alien tells Lando that his boss is ready to see him. The aliens boss is a weird species that seems to have pistol wielding flying pixies for guards. He tells Lando he will take the jewel as 10% of Lando's debt and suggests another way to pay back the rest. Lobot is not happy with just having 10% cleared and lets Lando know it, he suggests they should fight with the alien 'Toren' instead of paying the rest.  Lando convinces Lobot that this one last job will pay off...

Marvels Star Wars Kanan - The Last Padawan #2 Review

By Steve Potter   Be Warned ! Possible S poil ers ahead!   First of all I will recap #1 for you,  and for those that don’t know I will quickly  summarise  who  Kanan  is . The adult Kan an can be found in ' Star wars Rebels ' on Disney XD at the momen t and also in the  book ' A New Dawn ' tells more about how the crew of the ' Ghost ' came to be.  B ut the comics so far focus on Kanan as a youngling or as he was known back then ' Caleb Dume ' when he was a Padawan learner within the Jedi Order and mentored by his  Jedi Master, ' Depa Billaba' .  The Empire has just taken an iron grip on the Galaxy....
