T oday's photo of the day comes from A.I. Artificial Intelligence .  Steven Spielberg and Haley Joel Osment check the script intently. Did you know that for the last seven minutes of A.I. the composer John Williams wrote a piano concerto, and it went over the length of the film. Steven Spielberg stopped the projector and told Williams to just let the music continue. Spielberg along with his editor Michael Kahn then re-edited the last seven minutes of movie into Williams' piano concerto. Spielberg did a similar thing years before E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), where he and Carol Littleton edited the last 15 minutes into Williams' music. 14 years ago today (June 29) Steven Spielbergs Artificial Intelligence , based on a story from Stanley Kubrick, went on general release in the US (after two premieres in New York (June 26, and Los Angeles June 28). Artificial Intelligence deals with 11 year old David, a human cyborg adopted by Henry and Monica Swinton, two people who are still in mourn over the loss of their own son (who had an incurable disease and has been stored in cryo-stasis, untill that day his desease can be dealt with) Starring as David is Haley Joel Osment, who, at that time was one of Hollywood's hottest child-actors, espescially since his success with/in The Sixth Sense .
