Jurassic Park Fan Creates Indomation. An Intense Stop-Motion Animated Short Complete With Raptor Chase

'Indomation.'  A Jurassic Park Inspired Stop-Motion Animated Short Jurassic Park fan, Mason Drumm contacted The Bearded Trio and wanted to share with us his new fun animated short that has a lot of Jurassic Park and Jurassic World influence.  Titled 'INDOMATION,' it's a stop-motion animated short that tells the story of our "hero" who just wants to order a pizza and have a relaxing evening watching Jurassic World.  Unfortunately the raptors have better ideas and what follows is a rather intense chase scene through numerous hand built sets boasting impressive attention to detail and animation. Mason tells us the six minute movie took ninety three hours of animation and 7830 frames.  A two month set build and thirty five sticks of glue.  That's some dedication and it shows.  Listen out for the plucky version of John Williams' Jurassic Park at the end.  We've also include a behind the scenes video for you to see the amount of work that go...

Movie Review: Spectacular, Suspenseful "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" Is A Forced Hybrid Of Better Movies

Reviewed by Patrick & Paul Gibbs   Out of Four 2015's   Jurassic World is a movie that has very much fallen victim to the "if it's so good, how come everybody liked it?" mentality, starting out as a literal monster hit that breathed life back into the franchise (even if it was heavily based on nostalgia) that received better reviews than either of the previous sequels to Steven Spielberg's classic. But the haters quickly took control of the narrative, and there was a major backlash against director Colin Trevorrow as he was branded the personification of white male privilege in Hollywood (and he made one incredibly stupid statement which helped fuel that, but otherwise it's really not fair to aim so much of the brunt of the anger at this very legitimate problem at him, any more than it would be to single out Paul Feig or Gary Ross for being white men hired to direct all female cast reboots.)   Jurassic World,  which was unabashedly silly (not the...

Defending Colin Trevorrow

Anyone who rises quickly in Hollywood is likely to face a backlash, and few directors have seen the kind of meteoric rise that has been experienced by Colin Trevorrow. After one quirky indie hit, Safety Not Guaranteed , Trevorrow was surprisingly given the huge assignment of directing Jurassic World. That film quickly became one of the highest grossing movies of all-time, and then came one of the few even bigger directing jobs: Star Wars: Episode IX.   But Jurassic World has experienced the now inevitable Internet backlash nearly any popular film faces, and Trevorrow's follow-up film, The Book of Henry, has debuted to withering reviews.  With this has come some worry from online fans over Star Wars , and articles on sites like the Hollywood Reporter questioning him as the director of the final installment of this new trilogy. First of all, let's discuss the questions some are having about whether the bad reviews for Henry will cause Trevorrow to be replaced on Episode IX...

Movie Review: Colin Trevorrow's "The Book of Henry" is Completely Involving if Not Completely Satisfying

THE BOOK OF HENRY Starring Naomi Watts, Jaeden Lieberher, Jacob Tremblay, Sarah Silverman, Lee Pace,  Maddie Ziegler and Dean Morris Written By Greg Hurwitz Directed by Colin Trevorrow Reviewed by Patrick Gibbs & Paul Gibbs   Out of Four F or his follow up to Jurassic World , director Colin Trevorrow has gone back to a smaller, more character oriented story, and his strong ability with actors and small dialogue scenes is on full display, but the slick Hollywood element is also at play here. The mixed result leaves only one definite conclusion:  The Book of Henry is, for better or worse, a truly unique movie summer full of sequels and reboots. Henry Carpenter (Jaeden Lieberher) is a 11-year genius living with his single mother and younger brother, Peter ( Room 's Jacob Tremblay). Henry is in many ways the head of the household, managing the family finances and trusted by his mother to make shrewd investments, and always looking out for his brother, unti...

The Jurassic Revival Is All Over Gaming

B y now we're all pretty used to the idea that the Jurassic Park franchise is back in full force. Spinning off of the legendary Steven Spielberg series, 2015's Jurassic World was about as strong a revival as any studio could have hoped for. The movie delighted critics and audiences, raking in $1.6 billion worldwide at box offices. Naturally there's a sequel on the way, and for all we know we could be on the cusp of a sprawling new branch of the franchise. Even before Jurassic World reached theaters, we were seeing something of a rebirth of Jurassic Park-related entertainment through the gaming industry. Back in 2011, Telltale Games produced Jurassic Park: The Game, a few years before the studio really exploded onto the console scene to become a recognized pioneer in narrative gaming. Looking back, it feels like a trial run for Telltale as it was criticized for not living up to the film , but also noted by other critics as being more of a cinematic experience than a pla...

Budget for Jurassic World 2 Will Be A Quarter Of A Billion

Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World made a huge amount of money at the box office so a second (and a third one) was more inevitable than a lunch box being sold with a Jurassic Park logo on it.  Now the sequel which is being directed by J.A Bayona has a meaty budget.  The director was interviewed by Latin publication El Pais Seminal and said the budget will be $260 million.  That's a huge increase over the first Jurassic World which had a production budget of $150 million.  For the record Steven Spielberg's 1993 Jurassic Park had a production budget of $63 million. Bayona said that the follow-up movie will belong in the "champion league of cinema" and explained that he initially considered taking on the movie because of Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall. The first Jurassic World made over $1.5 Billion at the domestic and worldwide box office. JA Bayona Confirms Jurassic World Trilogy

Love it or hate it, the fourth installment in the Jurassic World franchise made a pile of cash bigger than a steaming pile of dino-dung.  So it's no surprise that more movies in the franchise are guaranteed.  It earned over $1.6 billion worldwide and is the fourth highest-grossing movie of all time (not accounting for inflation). Yesterday Spanish director JA Bayona who is taking over the director's chair from Colin Trevorrow for the sequel said in a recent interview that the plan is to create a new trilogy “truthful to the legacy” of Steven Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park films while modernising them for a new audience. “The whole Jurassic World is a trilogy that Colin Trevorrow as envisioned. We’re writing the second chapter and it’s very interesting where he’s leading the story,” he told LRM. “I grew up watching Steven Spielberg movies and I love those movies and the legacy, so it’s a question of being truthful to the legacy and at the same time, bringing new st...

Universal congratulates Disney and Lucasfilm for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ box office record

It's become a tradition that movie studios congratulate each other when their previous box office record gets beaten by another movie and studio, especially when it comes to Lucasfilm and Star Wars.  With Star Wars The Force Awakens taking the opening box office record last weekend from Universal's effort earlier in the year with Jurassic World , they have produced this picture.  It's shows a T-Rex putting a medal over BB-8 in recognition of their achievement. Frank Marshall, the producer of Jurassic World tweeted the picture along with a congratulatory message: Cheers to J.J., Kathy, the cast and crew, and DIS/LFL marketing teams! #TheForceAwakens @Disney @StarWars @Bad_Robot pic.twitter.com/oa0zwuAb2Q — Frank Marshall (@LeDoctor) December 21, 2015 The Bearded Trio - The Site For Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and John Williams THE BEARDED TRIO ON FACEBOOK THE BEARDED TRIO ON TWITTER THE BEARDED TRIO ON GOOGLE+ THE BEARDED TRIO ON PINTEREST C...

Jurassic World Destined To Be A Trilogy

It will come as no surprise that Universal plan on bringing us more dino-splicing-adventures after the success of Jurassic World.  In fact you can expect at least two more sequels to Jurassic World.  Universal Pictures' chairman Donna Langley revealed the news in a studio chief roundtable, saying (via  The Hollywood Reporter ): "Colin Trevorrow is busy working on an outline. "He's been working with Steven [Spielberg]. And they have an idea for the next two movies actually. It was designed as a trilogy, unbeknown to us. It's a happy surprise." Elsewhere, the as-yet unnamed sequel to Jurassic World will be released in the US on Friday, June 22, 2018, but will be out in UK cinemas from Thursday, June 7, 2018.
