After a week of leaks and teases, Star Wars fans were eagerly anticipating Disney Plus Day on Friday, November 12. It was the two-year anniversary of the streaming service which rolled out The Mandalorian as the headlining show to open the streaming service to customers. But as Friday morning morphed into Friday afternoon, fans' anticipation quickly turned into frustration. Gift Idea: Old Calendars That Can Be Used In 2022 The perfect gift is one that keeps on giving.  So how about a 2022 calendar?  How about going one better and getting that special loved one a calendar from a previous year?  Have you gone mad? Disney announced yesterday (via various outlets) that Indiana Jones 5 will not grace our cinema screens until June 2023.  Variety was quoted as saying it was "related to production."   Indy V was not the only culprit though as six Marvel movies were also delayed.  Harrison Ford's shoulder injury while on set of Indy V hasn't helped the production and no doubt would have caused some delays. But, where as some are looking at the negative side of this, I can't help that this is a good thing.  After all the delay to the latest James Bond movie due to the pandemic ultimately gave us a much better movie than the original trailer would have led us to believe.  Spend more time fine-tuning the movie and we could end up with a spectacular Indiana Jones movie.  All good things comes to those who wait as they say.  I know Indy V was announced was back in 2016 but with production being in full swing in the last few months it's really happening and having a few...

Indy V Score Recording Incoming Thanks to the lovely folks over at JWFan.Com we find out that John Williams is set to start recording the score for Indiana Jones V in "1-2 weeks" but of course it won't be until next year we get to hear it.  It's kind of comforting to know that more John Williams music is on the way. JWFan tell us: John Williams will start writing the music for the new Indiana Jones film “in 1-2 weeks” according to reports from fans who attended his first of three concerts in Berlin, -although “you’ll still have to wait until next summer to hear it”, he said, adding that the movie was “on schedule, despite [Harrison] Ford’s injury”. Much of Star Wars is based on the trilogy format, whether it is films or publishing. In the case of "real world" Star Wars, the format still applies, and applies most effectively. Kim DM Simmons was a toy photographer for Kenner throughout a much-beloved era, the original trilogy era. A couple months ago, he published his third book detailing some of his terrific work for the Star Wars Kenner line, this one aptly named Volume 3: 1983-85, which covers the Return of the Jedi toy line as well as Power of the Force (POTF) and the short-lived Droids and Ewoks lines. Like his first two volumes, which covered Star Wars and the Empire Strikes Back, Volume 3 features well-known and never-before-seen examples of his photography during the last years of the original Kenner Star Wars toy line. Once in a while, Star Wars publishing comes out with a completely unique reference book, and in the case of Star Wars: The Lightsaber Collection by Daniel Wallace, it is an absolute joy to consume. Wallace has penned Star Wars reference books for many years, going back to the early years of the franchise's publishing revival in the 1990s. This stands out to me as one of his unique achievements, but more on the writing style in a bit. One of the signature items in Star Wars is the lightsaber, an inspired invention by George Lucas going back to the earliest drafts of his screenplays for A New Hope. The lightsaber gets the gold star treatment here in this book, which serves as a close examination on the form and function of the weapon completely unique to this franchise.
