Woah! Where do I start? Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017 was intense! For my first celebration, it was tons of fun—I made some new friends, definitely emotional, a little overwhelming at first, exhausting of course. It’s something I’ll never ever forget. The best way for me to sum everything up without forgetting anything is to do a day-by-day recap. Day 1 of SWCO: Let me just say the waiting in line was SO worth it. The 40 th Anniversary panel was the greatest part of the entire weekend in my opinion. When Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy introduced George Lucas, a gasp engulfed the crowd before his name was even uttered. An all-star lineup was introduced on stage to pay tribute to George; Dave Filoni, who George referred to as his son that had to be purged of bad ideas. Dave intimately told a story of how George taught him not to be afraid to try new things that may seem impossible. “We’ll figure it out” George would tell him, and they always did. The one line...

C hris Pratt is a busy guy.  Not only is he currently shooting Jurassic World 2 but he's also doing the promotion circuit for Marvel's highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.  While he was speaking to Screen Rant the subject briefly changed from the Guardians sequel to another sequel, Jurassic World 2 and its director. At least that's what will happen if the event's organisers, Pukerua Bay couple Nikky and Chris Winchester can turn their bizarre vision into reality. Having watched this 14 minute video from Youtuber Auralnauts where he very skillfully dubs the talents of voice actor, Scheiffer Bates over R2-D2 I've come to the conclusion that I love this version even more than the original.  I still love the beeps and bleeps of the old R2 but this makes the little droid even more adorable. The Last Jedi panel has just taken place at Star Wars Celebration Orlando and the much anticipated trailer has been released.   Rian Johnson the director was on stage along with the president of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy .  Kennedy heaped praise on Johnson calling him one of the best directors she has ever seen.  Both paid tribute to Carrie Fisher who sadly passed away at the end of last year. The two were soon joined on stage by Daisy Ridley who plays Rey in The Last Jedi.  She walked on stage to a huge roar.  "My heart is pounding, thank you so much" she said.  She was asked questions including "are you Luke's daughter?" and "are you a Skywalker?"  Obviously she couldn't answer any of these questions.  She did say that The Last Jedi will go deeper into Rey's story and her relationship with Luke.  Going back for a second time was more "nerve racking" as she knew what to expect and there was a level of expectancy she added...

What an opening to Star Wars Celebration Orlando that was!  During the “40 Years of Star Wars” panel, George Lucas walks on stage to a roaring crowd and chants of "Lucas!" The Star Wars creator paid tribute to the much missed Carrie Fisher.  Joining him on stage was Kathleen Kennedy, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill.  In a touching tribute, Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd came on stage to remember her mother. John Williams was also in attendance and performed the iconic Star Wars theme along with other tracks such as Leia's Theme with a full orchestra. Hosting the event was Warwick Davis who was also joined on stage by Hayden Christensen, Dave Filoni, Peter Mayhew, Ian McDiarmid, Anthony Daniels and Billy Dee Williams. Back in December we reported that Lucasfilm   put forward a trademark filing to the European Union Intellectual Property Office for “Star Wars Forces of Destiny.”  The Internet was speculating if this is the title for one of the upcoming Star Wars movies.  Well today we were sent a press release from Lucasfilm to explain what Forces of Destiny is all about. Disney and  Lucasfilm  today announced  Star Wars Forces of Destiny,  a new initiative celebrating the inspiring stories of iconic heroes from across the  Star Wars  universe. An original series of animated shorts (each 2-3  minutes  in length) will   explore exciting, all new adventures of key characters including Rey,  Jyn Erso , Sabine Wren, Princess Leia,  Ahsoka   Tano  and others, ahead of books and a TV special later in the year.
