The Force Is With GOG.COM

There's nothing like playing some classic gaming.  I must be getting old as it seems 2004 is now classed as "classic."  Anyway, to celebrate May 4th, GOG.COM are making the classic Star Wars Battlefront available on their platform and not only that but there's a whole host of Star Wars games with up to 65% off.  Time to revisit Knights of the Old Republic I think.  Here's the press release:

To celebrate May the 4th, GOG.COM is announcing the digital release of the legendary STAR WARS™ Battlefront™ (Classic, 2004), and launching a week-long sale on classic Star Wars games.

From the Battle for Naboo to the Battle of Endor, the Historical Campaign mode in the classic STAR WARS Battlefront, lets players become a fighter of the Republic and the Empire alike as they take part in epic battles for the control over the galaxy.

In the Galactic Conquest mode, gamers choose between 20 characters and 4 factions and fight on land, air and in space. Plus, take command of a variety of vehicles on 16 massive maps, including Bespin, Hoth or Naboo.

STAR WARS Battlefront (Classic, 2004) is available now DRM-free and at a 15% discount until May 9th, 10PM UTC.

During GOG.COM’s Star Wars week, there are plenty of other galactic goodies: players follow the path of Darth Revan in the pinnacle of Action RPGs Star Wars™: Knights of the Old Republic (-65%), become a Jedi in Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast™(-65%), or go and win some Pod-races in Star Wars™ Episode 1: Racer (-40%).

Pinewood Studios To Expand To The Usa

BBC News have reported that Pinewood Studios are to expand to the USA.  This is great news for the famous studio that is rich in movie history. UK film studio Pinewood Shepperton has announced plans to build its first sound stages in the United States. The Pinewood Atlanta complex will be built on 288 acres of land south of Atlanta, Georgia, as a joint venture with a US investment company. Georgia has been among the US states drawing film-making away from Hollywood with tax incentives in recent years. The deal is the latest sign of expansion at Pinewood, the home of the James Bond franchise. Earlier this month it announced a joint venture with a Chinese media group, potentially giving it access to the fast-growing Chinese market. Read the full article here.
