The return of The Walking Dead gives FOX UK its biggest ever series launch in the channel's history

 1.43 million tune in for the return of The Walking Dead on FOX UK
- 59% up on S6 opener after its first 24 hours and is on track to be the highest rated show on the channel in its 14 year history
- 9pm transmission was the highest rated show in Pay TV and also outpaced Channel 5, and the other FTA multichannels
- Fox Networks Group is the exclusive international home of The Walking Dead, airing the show in 125+ markets around the world

Season 7 Premiere of The Walking Dead has given FOX UK it’s biggest ever series launch and is on track to become the highest rated show since the channel began in 2004. 1.43 million tuned in to watch the premiere episode of Robert Kirkman’s smash hit series, via the simulcast at 2:30am or the show’s traditional Monday night slots, at 9pm and 11:25pm. This made FOX UK the number 1 paid TV channel in 9pm slot, also beating Channel 5 and the other FTA multichannels.

“Since its launch, this global phenomenon has continued to increase its audience year on year, however for last night’s episode to deliver the highest ratings of any series launch in the channels history is testament to The Walking Dead’s status as the number 1 TV show in the world,” said Jeff Ford, UK MD, Fox Networks Group Europe & Africa. “Along with the new season of American Horror Story, American Dad and the debut of the highly anticipated new X-Men spin off Legion in the new year, fans know that FOX UK is the home for the best entertainment, first,” continued Ford.

Pinewood Studios To Expand To The Usa

BBC News have reported that Pinewood Studios are to expand to the USA.  This is great news for the famous studio that is rich in movie history. UK film studio Pinewood Shepperton has announced plans to build its first sound stages in the United States. The Pinewood Atlanta complex will be built on 288 acres of land south of Atlanta, Georgia, as a joint venture with a US investment company. Georgia has been among the US states drawing film-making away from Hollywood with tax incentives in recent years. The deal is the latest sign of expansion at Pinewood, the home of the James Bond franchise. Earlier this month it announced a joint venture with a Chinese media group, potentially giving it access to the fast-growing Chinese market. Read the full article here.
