Review - Stranger Things Is Full Of 80's Spielberg Magic @NetflixUK

Stranger Things is a Netflix original eight part TV series that is a love letter to Steven Spielberg and those 80's supernatural classics that, if you are of a certain age would eagerly pop into your family's video recorder and play over and over again. Set in 1983 Indiana, the plot of Stranger Things begins with a young boy vanishing into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl. Stranger Things stars: Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Chief Hopper), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Millie Brown (Eleven), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler) and Matthew Modine (Dr. Brenner) The kids in Stranger Things really do steal the show and all act like your typical geeky

STRANGER THINGS FUN FACTS

The new Netflix original production, Stranger Things is a love letter to the ’80s supernatural classics that captivated a generation.  With quite a bit of influnence from 80s Steven Spielberg, Stranger Things is set in  1983 Indiana, where a young boy vanishes into thin  air. As friends, family and local police search for  answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary  mystery involving top secret government  experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one  very strange little girl. STRANGER THINGS FUN FACTS ●       To help sell the show, the Duffers edited a mock “trailer” the combined clips from over 25 feature films, including E.T ., Nightmare on Elm Street , Super 8 , and Halloween . ●       The composers of the Stranger Things soundtrack (Michael Stein and Kyle Dixon) were two members of an Austin synth band called SURVIVE; their music was featured in the soundtrack of the film The Guest . This is how the Duffers initially discovered the

Star Wars Celebration Europe was truly a celebration to remember #SWCE @SW_Celebration

Star Wars Celebration Europe returned to London on Friday 15 th July at the Excel and this was to be my first ever experience of a Star Wars Celebration.  I will admit I was excited, the closest I’ve come was watching the live feed on my computer from the year before which took place in Anaheim.  But even from this I could tell the atmosphere was going to be incredible.  Thankfully I wasn’t disappointed.

What a weekend that was!  Star Wars Celebration Europe at the Excel in London may have finished and if you were there, you may have the blues after such a fantastic event but don't worry because I've uploaded a 27 minute floor walk video of the event for you to reminisce of all that Star Wars goodness.

Force Trees: It’s Energy Surrounds Us

Yoda and the cave a.k.a. " The Domain of Evil " “Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you. Here, between you … me … the tree ... the rock … everywhere! Yes, even between the land and the ship.” – Master Yoda to Luke in The Empire Strikes Back As fans of Star Wars, we’re all privy to this quote by our little green friend, Master Yoda. But as of late, due to all the latest hearsay and crazy fan theories, the true meaning behind it all may in fact, be different from what we first had suspected all those years ago. For example, the most recent excerpt of the upcoming novel, Life Debt by Chuck Wendig sheds some new light on the Force and its connection with trees. Just in that tiny tidbit, we now know that Luke was instructing Leia in the ways of the Force and through a tree sapling, acting as a conduit for meditations. You must unlearn what you have learned, comes to mind. Trees no

The BFG - Interview With Jonathan Holmes who plays ChildChewer

Photo credit  Kristine Cofsky Jonathan Holmes has graced our screens in many hit television shows and exciting movies, now this talented British actor will be playing Childchewer, one of Roald Dahl’s iconic giants in the Spielberg directed Disney feature, The BFG, alongside Mark Rylance, Jemaine Clement and Bill Hader. In Disney’s The BFG, a girl named Sophie encounters the Big Friendly Giant who, despite his intimidating appearance, turns out to be a kind hearted soul who is considered an outcast by the other giants because, unlike them, he refuses to eat children. Jonathan has enjoyed a long career in front of the camera with career highlights including playing opposite Martin Freeman and Toby Jones in Peter Greenaway’s Nightwatching, starring as Lloyd in the first season of DirectTV’s Rogue alongside Thandie Newton, playing Mr Deley in the hit ABC movie The Descendants, as well as numerous guest starring roles in shows like Almost Human. I was lucky enough to ask Jonat

Lego Star Wars The Force Awakens Review

Last summer TT Games' LEGO Jurassic World reinvigorated a beloved movie tie-in franchise in much the same way as its movie inspiration brought aging dinosaurs back into the lives of the touch screen generation. Now LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens builds (pun intended) on the success of a rejuvenated Star Wars saga. Like its blockbusting silver screen counterpart. The Force Awakens LEGO videogame trades on a heavy dose of nostalgia and your enjoyment will be predicated on how eager you're prepared to embrace it. Spoiler! I loved JJ Abrams' space opera and that translates to this witty wonder too. It's a faithful adaptation of The Force Awakens unlike EA's Star Wars Battlefront, which was released in the lead up to the Star Wars sequel last December. Battlefront features Jakku, but decades before the events of the movie. I was a critic of Star Wars Battlefront at launch and promised myself I wouldn't buy it! Now it's the game I play the most. Book Review of Lego Star Wars: Chronicles of the Force

This month I had a great opportunity and an exciting time reading and reviewing Lego Star Wars: Chronicles of the Force written by Adam Bray, David Fentiman, and Cole Horton, published by DK Publishing. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little hesitant in reviewing this book and for good reason: How exactly do I review a Lego book? Are there going to be any words to read? I have never once bought, owned or was given any Legos as a gift. Well, that may change after reading this book. This book was pure unadulterated fun—an absolute joy. It doesn’t matter if you like Star Wars or not, or like Legos or not, one can enjoy this book as long as you’re a fan of one or the other. Upon first look, embedded inside the front cover is an Exclusive mini-figure, and with the turn of a few pages, just after the books table of contents, it reveals the figure to be Unkar’s Brute—one of the thugs that tried to steal BB-8 from Rey in The Force Awakens. The cover art is fantastic! There is a gre
