A short 8 minute group of clips showing how the guys at ILM used a stock-standard Nikon F3 to film parts of the Mine Cart Chase scene in the Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom movie.
The film registration system within the F3 proved to be so accurate, for the stop-motion filming, that the only modification required for the film transport mechanism was a slowing down by 1/3 the speed of the MD-4 motorized winder.
The camera would go on to become known as the NikonFlex.
For their efforts, both Dennis Muren & Mike McAlister went on to win Oscars at the 57th Academy Awards in 1985 - https://youtu.be/HMOvN9u2t0s
