STAR WARS: FORCE FOR CHANGE ANNOUNCES ONLINE CHARITY AUCTION IN SUPPORT OF UNICEF KID POWER

Iconic stormtrooper helmets decorated by artists from around the world up for bid on global Star Wars Day, May the 4th.

Star Wars: Force For Change, a charitable initiative from Disney and Lucasfilm, today announced its latest campaign, teaming with eBay Giving Works to auction off a selection of plaster stormtrooper helmet replicas uniquely decorated by artists around the world. The 10-day auction will kick off today and give bidders the chance to compete for these one-of-a-kind stormtrooper helmets at a starting price of $5.04. Lucasfilm has donated the helmets to U.S. Fund for UNICEF. U.S. Fund for UNICEF will receive 100% of the final auction sales price for each helmet and will direct these funds to support UNICEF Kid Power, an innovative new program that uses the world's first Wearable-For-Good to get kids active and provide lifesaving food packets to children in need around the globe.

This auction comes on the heels of a very successful Force For Change interactive event at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. During a globally-broadcast panel discussion about the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie to be released on December 18, 2015, director J.J. Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy discussed their latest collaboration with the humanitarian children’s organization in support of UNICEF Kid Power and why the relationship is so important to Star Wars: Force For Change.

“The Star Wars movies have always inspired a desire in people to help others, and we are extremely grateful that our fan community has been so generous with their time and efforts on behalf of the many charitable causes they support,” remarks Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm Ltd. “Our hope is that Force For Change will harness that spirit of giving into a worldwide movement that uses the power and reach of Star Wars to help those around the world in need.”

“UNICEF Kid Power allows kids to become global forces for change with every step they take. The generous support from Disney and Lucasfilm along with the excitement generated by Star Wars fans will allow UNICEF to inspire even more kids to get active and save lives,” said Caryl M. Stern, President & CEO of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. "May the Force for change be with you!"

Star Wars: Force For Change and UNICEF Kid Power also hosted an obstacle course for kids on the Celebration floor with severalStar Wars licensees and fan groups participating to raise over $50,000 in support of UNICEF Kid Power.  By tapping into young people’s inherent desire to help others, Star Wars: Force for Change and UNICEF Kid Power are inspiring a new generation of global citizens.
While participating in the program, kids wear UNICEF Kid Power Bands, which measure their activity while they are moving. Physical activity unlocks Kid Power Points – the more they move, the more points they earn. Kid Power Points are converted to funding by partners, and funds are used by UNICEF to deliver lifesaving packets of therapeutic food to severely malnourished children.

Did Paul Freeman Accidentally Eat A Fly In Raiders of the Lost Ark?

The Famous Indiana Jones Fly In Belloq's Mouth Scene.  Did It Really Happen? I've always wondered if Paul Freeman unintentionally consumed a fly in this scene in  Raiders of the Lost Ark ?  It's the scene where Indiana Jones shouts down to Bellosh...I mean Belloq and threatens to blow up the ark.  Did a fly go in his mouth? I remember watching this scene back in the early eighties and my ten year old mind thought he definitely had a snack while filming.  I recall talking about 'flygate' in my school playground at the time and the general consensus with my friends was that Freeman definitely had a sneaky snack. Paul Freeman talks about the famous 'fly' scene in an interview with TheIndyExperience.com  and settled 'flygate:' This is a bit of a dicey question so don’t get too upset. (Laughs) A movie’s always got bloopers in it, some have a lot, and some only have three or four. And the most remarkable blooper was right before the opening of th

Explaining That "Weird" Cut In Poltergeist. Read The Missing Scene

Why Is There A Strange Cut In The 1982 Horror Classic, Poltergeist? If you're a fan of the 1982 Horror classic, Poltergeist then you will be very familiar with that "weird" cut in the movie.  It's 32 minutes and 47 seconds in to the movie and the scene is where Diane is explaining the strange phenomenon that is happening in the kitchen.  First, she shows to Steve a chair scraping across the floor all on its own then she does the same with Carol Anne.  Steve leans up against the kitchen wall and is completely shocked at what just happened.  It's at this point Diane starts to explain the sensation of being pulled and then...A very abrupt cut.  One moment we are listening to Diane and suddenly it cuts to Diane and Steve at their next door neighbours door.  Why the sudden cut?  It's on the VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray and even the streaming versions.  Why does this awful and weird cut exist in the movie, Poltergeist?  Watch the clip below to see the cut: Well, the ans
