Indiana Jones Poster-Art

Most of you are familiar with the Indiana Jones posters by Drew Struzan and Amsel (Raiders of the Lost Ark). But initially Indiana Jones had a different, much tougher look than how we have come to know him.  This Indy had no trouble at all, with snakes. The early concepts for Raiders of the Lost Ark were drawn by Jim Steranko, an artist with a highly successful career in comics. Besides working on Indy, Jim Steranko also had a go at Star Wars and produced (among others) this beautiful magazine-cover. Not all of his work was lost, one of his drawings was used by Kenner for their Raiders of the Lost Ark Boardgame . If you want to know more about the artist and his work, check this site: http://www.thedrawingsofsteranko.com/aghp.html Ronny. New Star Wars TV Series On The Way - Droid Tales

Droid Tales Will Tell The Story Of The Star Wars Movies From The Eyes Of C-3PO And R2-D2 Disney XD seems it can't get enough of Star Wars .  With Star Wars Rebels airing on the channel it looks like a new Star Wars series will also find its way to the channel.  Droid Tales will take on an animated look at the six Star Wars movies from the eyes of C-3PO and R2-D2 in Lego form. The episodes will be 22 minutes each and air later on in the year.   Hollywood Reporter broke the news and they tell us: Set after the Rebel Alliance victory on Endor seen at the end of Return of the Jedi, the droids are regaling the assembly with their adventures that led them to their present situation. An accidental kidnapping leads to a new adventure that progresses to the retelling of the saga in chronological order, from The Phantom Menace to Return of the Jedi. Now all we need is the opening credits to resemble Duck Tales and I will be happy Rob @thebeardedtrio The Bearded Trio - The S

Leonard Nimoy Dies Age 83. I have been and always shall be...your friend.

Star Trek Star, Leonard Nimoy Dies Age 83. Sad news as we discover that Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy who played the half Vulcan, half human Spock in the original series had passed away at the age of 83. His son, Adam, said he died of end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease on Friday morning. Last year, Leonard Nimoy announced he was suffering from chronic lung disease, despite stopping smoking more than 20 years ago.  During the week the actor was rushed into hospital suffering from chest pains. Personally I am totally saddened and shocked at the news as it was only a few months ago I was at Destination Star Trek London where Nimoy was making a speech to his fans.  He will be missed. Thank you Leonard for so many memories.  From Star Trek, The Original Series to the movies, your appearance in The Next Generation, singing Bilbo Baggins and your appearance in Columbo too.  I have been and always shall be...your friend. Tiny Tiny Toons

Collectibles come in all kinds of sizes. From huge (we have to move, because my hobby needs more space) stuff to the tiniest of figurines. Most of you will probably know of the surprise-eggs by (grounded by the recently deceased) Ferrero , Hollow chocolate eggs, that have a surprise toy in their midst. But perhaps lesser known is a French company called Arguydal , that makes little ceramic figurines, that are hidden in birthday cakes, as a surprise to the guests of the party. In France this is common used, we might look at it differently. Among the figurines that are produced, we often find Disney characters, but every now and then other series are produced. A few weeks ago I stumbled upon a series of figurines from Amblin's Balto , and a few days ago this Tiny Toon series jumped in front of my camera. And since it's almost weekend, I thought I would share them with you. PS: remember, the figurines are only 1 to 2 cm in heigh

VIDEO: Chris Pratt Addresses Indy 5 Rumors

Chris Pratt Addresses Indy 5 Casting Speculation   This past Sunday, Chris Pratt was a presenter at the Oscars. While taking his turn on the red carpet prior to the ceremony, he fielded a question from MTV regarding all those recent Indy 5 rumors. Basically, he said it was a lot of nothing about nothing. However, it doesn't sound as though he'd turn down an offer, if one is ever made. While some actors dance around this type of thing and string out the tease, he seems sincere when he says he doesn't know what's going on. It's probably safe to say that no one really knows what's going on with the Indiana Jones franchise, and everything is speculation at this point. Personally, I wouldn't count Harrison Ford out just yet. What we do know for sure is that Chris Pratt will be seen in Jurassic World , in theaters June 12th. Throwback Thursday: Jurassic Park. Images From Star Image Magazine 1993

This week let's another look at the film that started of the dino-craze  that most of us are still infected by (well at least until June of this year probably) Jurassic Park . When the film was released back in 1993 it gained a lot of attention from the media  (as it should of course). This time around I opted for a French Magazine called Star Image , its first edition, which came out in October of 1993  ( Jurassic Park was released in the summer in the US and the UK,  a great part of Europe followed in September and October of that same year), had it's cover and a great deal of the magazine devoted to the film. The greatest part of the article consists of pictures of our favorite dinosaurs,  so even if your French isn't too good, I hope you will enjoy it.                    Dinner will be served shortly. Be afraid, be very afraid. Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me, when I'm angry Sniffin
