Star Wars Episode VII To Shoot This August and Possible Production Alias Revealed

Remember Blue Harvest?  Yes the codename for Return of the Jedi.  Well according to rumours and a little speculation it seems Lucasfilm will be using a production alias for the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII.  Over at Jedi News they've got a scoop from a very reliable source that the code name this time will be Foodles. Foodles Productions Ltd, a company registered on 26th March 2013 to the Disney headquarters in London. Also mentioned in Jedi News report is an August start date for the production. Early 2014 has been cited before, but I do know pre-production work has been underway for a good while, so I’m prepared to believe the report is right. http://www.jedinews.co.uk/news/news.aspx?newsID=12848 THE BEARDED TRIO ON FACEBOOK THE BEARDED TRIO ON TWITTER THE BEARDED TRIO ON GOOGLE+

Spielberg To Join John Williams and the Phoenix Symphony, Sept 28th

Steven Spielberg will be joining film composer John Williams and the Phoenix Symphony for a benefit concert Saturday, Sept. 28. Spielberg, will show clips from his films with and without their scores to talk about the function of music in the cinema. Williams and Spielberg are donating their time for the concert, with proceeds going to the symphony’s education and community-outreach programs. The event is one of the first performances of the 2013-14 season, which the symphony is billing as a season of “Big Names and Big Music.” Jim Ward, president and CEO of the symphony, calls it a “master class in film and score.” Ward, who joined the symphony in 2011, previously worked as president of LucasArts and senior vice president of Lucasfilm, producer of both the “Star Wars” films and the Spielberg-directed Indiana Jones adventures. It was there that he got to know Williams, the Academy Award-winning composer who scored both of those series and collaborated with Spielberg on such o

Wayne Knight Who Played Dennis Nedry Wants A Part In Jurassic Park IV

Wayne Knight was talking to a small group of media at Comic Con and revealed how he would like to get a part in Jurassic Park IV. "It was a very big meal and a very small dinosaur," he said when toofab asked about appearing in the upcoming flick. "It was different from the book. In the book he crushes his head and all this kinda stuff. I'm thinking, why not play a one-armed guy with an eye patch? I could come back!" Knight also reveals the moment when he found out he got the part in Jurassic Park. "The biggest moment, best moment was getting cast because it was out of nowhere," says Knight. "My agent said, 'Are you sitting down? Steven Spielberg called, he wants to put you in Jurassic Park.' I didnt audition for it. I think he saw me sweating and staring closely at Sharon Stone [in 'Basic Instinct'] and thought, 'What if that were a dinosaur?'" Source:  http://www.toofab.com/2013/07/19/wayne-knight-jurassic

Lucasfilm denies rumours JJ Abrams is quitting new 'Star Wars' movie

Yesterday we posted on our Facebook page the rumour that J.J. Abrams was quitting Star Wars VII due to having to shoot the movie in the UK.  Well it seems this was just a bit of Internet trolling and cheap tricks by cheap websites to generate traffic.  The ever reliable IGN decided to go straight to Lucasfilm and ask the question straight out and here's their response. "There is no truth to the rumour, JJ is having a great time working on the script and is looking forward to going into production next year." So there you have it.  J.J. is still on board and every one can start breathing again. Rob @welshslider THE BEARDED TRIO ON FACEBOOK THE BEARDED TRIO ON TWITTER THE BEARDED TRIO ON GOOGLE+

Spielberg And Lucas "Games Can't Be Art."

This Saturday, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg hosted a panel debate at an independent film festival the two had chosen to dedicate to themselves. At the event, the two highly praised filmmakers mostly talked about problems facing the world of cinema. However, Spielberg and Lucas also dedicated a significant chunk of the event to talk about other mediums, expressing their skepticism to non-cinematic art forms. “Other mediums are inferior to film”, Spielberg told the crowd, whilst Lucas nodded in approval. ”Many people are not aware that there are other mediums where the pictures don’t even move. Hell, some mediums don’t have pictures at all”, Lucas added, urging any potential art collectors in the audience to be wary of ‘incomplete films’, such as paintings and music. When a member of the audience asked what the two filmmakers thought of video games as a form of art, Spielberg was keen to provide his insight on the games industry. “The problem with games is the controller. Quick fire questions - This Week Indycast's Keith Voss

This week we have Indycast's Keith Voss.  Keith, an American living in Austria is a self confessed Indiana Jones addict and co-hosts " The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones" with Joe Stuber on the number one Indiana Jones podcast, Indycast.   Keith worked for a movie trailer company for ten years in New York and On top of all this he has also written two songs  “High Adventure”, “The Tale of Short Round” and “The Fury of Darth Maul” . With that lets begin the quick fire questions. You're stuck in a swamp on Dagobah.  What one movie, TV show, album and book would you take?   I would like to take a movie I have always wanted to see, but have never seen before. If I like it, great, if not I have plenty of time to reflect on why I chose to bring that stupid movie with me in the first place. TV show hands down, would have to be “Robot Chicken”. The album would be Queen’s Greatest Hits, and as far as one book, “Ready Player One” by Ernest Cline because it has en

David Hasselhoff Wants Part In Star Wars VII

Last week at London Film & Comic Con I managed to catch a quick word with The Hoff.  Of course I couldn't resist in asking him a Star Wars question.  In particular would he be interested in a role in Star Wars VII.  His answer: "HELL YEAH!  Sure why not." The star of Knight Rider and Baywatch seemed very enthusiastic about the prospect.  With William Shatner fishing for a role and Hasselhoff showing enthusiasm for the role, could Star Wars VII be a retro cast? What do you think? Rob @welshslider THE BEARDED TRIO ON FACEBOOK THE BEARDED TRIO ON TWITTER THE BEARDED TRIO ON GOOGLE+

Bad Robot Release Photo Of (Potentially) Star Wars VII Script

There is a very good chance that what you're looking at here is the script to Star Wars VII. Bad Robot posted the mystery image on Twitter, saying: "Hot off the presses. Can you guess what's behind the cover?" Considering that Bad Robot is J.J. Abrams production company and they are working on Star Wars VII would make this very likely the script to the 2015 Star Wars release. Guest Post - Remember the Masters of the Universe Movie by Rhys Thomas

Growing up He-Man was my hero, I had the action figures (or dolls as my father would call them), I had the sleeping bag, I had a subscription to the comic book and my Eternian name according to my the Masters of the Universe fan club was Rogar (pron. row-garr). Despite all this or maybe its because of all this I remember being unbelievably disappointed by Masters of the Universe the movie when I first saw it; "that's not He-Man!" I recall thinking. My problem was never with He-Man the character, in fact I always liked Dolph Lundgren in the role but more with the fact that they omitted most of the main characters and set the majority of the film on earth. There was He-Man and Skeletor, the Sorceress, Man-At-Arms, Teela, Evil Lyn and a cameo from Beast man but why not Mer-Man and Trap Jaw? Why not Stratos and Orco and Ram Man? What is the girl from the Dancing in the Dark doing in it? Most importantly though where was the mighty Battle Cat? The film does brush ove

Quick Fire Questions - This Week We Have Vadergirl

This week we have Vadergirl.  Vadergirl has a huge social media following on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube.  Her Facebook page alone commands almost 12000 likes.  Wow!  In her own words Vadergirl says "I am a hard working single mother from Michigan who finds escape in the world of Star Wars and conventions. You're stuck in a swamp on Dagobah.  What one movie, TV show, album and book would you take? If I was stuck in a swamp I would take the movie "Tommy Boy".  My TV show would be Doctor Who.  My album, Lucinda Williams "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road."  My book would be "are you there God it's me Margaret" by Judy Blume If you could invite any three people (alive or not, fictitious or not) to a dinner party, who would they be? E.T. Phone Milky Way by Donald Garner

Donald Garner writes for The Bearded Trio, remembering the time he met Spielberg's Mom. My grandpa, my only grandpa, is on his deathbed. He has days, likely less, to live. Memories, further chapters… it all ends here. My family knows loss all too well. We lost my mom when I was 16 and that tore the family apart. Now, this. What would my hero, Steven Spielberg, do to cope? Probably go make a bunch of movies. Coincidentally, all day my friends have been doing anything possible to cheer me up, mostly by sharing pictures of Steven and his movies on my Facebook wall. It’s working, I feel cared about. One such picture catches my attention more than the rest – a picture of a lovely brunette in her early 20’s, Elodie, a fellow Spielberg fan, posing for a picture with a small, older woman in suspenders. This picture isn’t going anywhere. There’s a reason, a very big reason, why this has been shared with me. I read the words that come with the picture: “Elodie visits Steven’s mom Le
